I decided to order from there and when the food came over after an hour and 20 minutes which is shocking, they decided to put everything on its side which made everything slide which made a huge mess with sauce as it was packing food not playing Tetris. As well as i had ordered a can of monster and a can of rockstar yet got 2 zero sugar monsters. Terrible place, be better.

Would certainly not recommend this chippy, which despite in the past being good, came today lukewarm at best, and with the chips having this very hard consistency, and the fish not tasting fresh at all, or like haddock, it had this slight bin taste which was very off-putting. Upon contacting Valente's about these issues, and as we are long time customers, they just ignored it completely. Not good enough!

No disrespect to the woman personally who served me but this is a warning for others: picking up my food with an UNGLOVED hand (the same hand that handled money) is very unhygienic and gross. I think they were shocked I mentioned anything tbh and she could only shrug initially. I requested a new portion and as they were only 3 there (you get 5 per portion), she said I could only get 3 despite paying for a portion. I said it wasn’t fair and ended up just leaving it after being told it’d take 10 minutes. I wanted to leave a review to warn others because I would really appreciate the heads up myself. Totally stunned and my partner was too as we’ve been here quite a few times in the past.

I know prices have increased though £5.50 for a single smoked sausage. I bought one from Asda £1.50 and the chip shop actually half one. Won’t be paying that again out of principle it’s actual greed not need.

Food is always fresh .. always get a jumbo haggis supper and my partner gets a steak pie.. the other night their we got a delivery and I always ask for salt and alot of sauce on my supper but when it was delivered there was nothing on it.. I phoned up and kindly they offered me another meal with salt and sauce which was great.. I also asked them to give me a bottle of their sauce which you can buy from them for just £3.. the 2nd delivery was here before my partner had even finished her meal.. will always get from here great service
