Terrible experience, no hot water one day, jacuzzi was cold and nothing was done about it for the entire stay and no lunge but uncomfortable plastic chairs by the pool. Spa weekend ruined. Not worth it. Lunch food, fish and chip was ok but the burger at dinner time was not great and chips were definitely re-fried as were soggy and drenched in oil. Shame the location was nice that’s about all there was positive.Rooms: Basic, bed was not very comfortable and the door had a 2 inch gap into the corridor!!!Food & drinks: Food was not great.

My husband and I stayed here on a DBB basis for 3 nights booking through myhotelbreak.com. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. It was overlooking the River Ericht which gave us a good view. The food in the restaurant was delicious and beautifully presented. The breakfast was served buffet style and that, too, was very tasty with plenty to choose from. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and courteous. We enjoyed visiting the spa on each day of our stay having a swim, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi.

Stayed overnight with my wife as I was given a gift of bed, breakfast and spa and we had a brilliant stay at The Angus Hotel. Free parking behind the hotel was great, just registered my car at check in. Had already checked in before arrival and the staff at the reception desk were so nice, very friendly and made us feel welcome. First time we've used spa in a hotel we've stayed in and it was great, lovely pool and facilities, spotless and very relaxing. Had reserved a table for dinner and heard it was fully booked so wondered if we might have a wait for food as has often happened in the past in other places we've stayed but not here. Plenty of waiting staff, all immaculately dressed, polite and very attentive. Simple things make a difference and when our wine glasses were almost empty one of the staff asked us if we would like our glasses topped up which is a small thing but proper hospitality, lovely guy at that, seemed to be a more senior member of the waiting staff and every person entering the restaurant was given the same high standard of service. Food was nice, nothing too fancy but really good quality and very reasonably priced, never left a thing in our plates. Our room was at the front of the building, great size, spotless and quiet, had a great sleep and who doesn't like a help yourself breakfast. All in all we had a great stay and our experience was so good we are definitely coming back.

My husband and I have just returned from a DBB break at this hotel. It was a very good deal booked through myhotelbreak.com. Our room was very comfortable and had all that we needed with a view to the River Ericht. The food in the restaurant was excellent and very well presented. The breakfast was buffet style and you helped yourself. The choice was good and it, too, was delicious. There were plenty of tables and seats to sit at in the lounge bar which did get busy at times. We made use of the Spa on each day of our holiday enjoying a swim, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. All staff were friendly, courteous and helpful.

Positives: * Upgraded square view rooms and spa are both a very high standard and clean. * Theresa who operates spa was friendly and gave great massage. * Bed comfy. * Breakfast was well stocked and food nice. * Ample parking at front and back if you arrive early enough. Negatives: * Reception staff were unfriendly to the point we felt like a burden, during all encounters. * The gap under bedroom doors are large enough to look under/put your fingers through (throughout all rooms we saw) so not great if a light sleeper. The room across the hall from us had the TV on (at a regular volume) and we could hear what they were watching, with our TV on. * Although hotel recommends that pool slots are booked, this seems to be ignored. When we alerted the Receptionist that the small pool had around 20/25 people in during our alloted time, she said "yeah people don't listen" and that was that. When we pressed her to find out when is quietest, she said "you'll need to just go look". We would still recommend as we enjoyed our stay otherwise, but the Reception staff left a lot to be desired unfortunately.

We really liked our stay here. The rooms were a bit old-fashioned, but with comfortable beds and good en-suite facilities. Meals were excellent, as was the service from staff in every part of the hotel. The one drawback was that although the weather was nice we couldn't sit in the front alfresco area, because it was dominated by smokers (filthy habit).

Is about their restaurant. Realy disaster. Serve food with quiet long hair. The omelet was not standard , but said made from 3 eggs, which is nor. The manager even argued instead of immediately action. After so much arguments refund for only one of the plate was issued. This restaurant should be investigate and possibly closed.

We arrived early for a timed slot in the pool and spa treatments. Lovely pool area and good spa facilities. Followed by afternoon tea, poor portions and lack of choice for the money. Had to go wander as didnt get room till 3pm, very small even though it was an upgrade and the bathroom was almost within the room! Felt the receptionist was abrupt on check in, advising they had taken payment before we even arrived and told us to go for evening meal at 5pm in bar area as the lounge was booked till 7.30pm. We arrived at 5pm to be told no food was being served as a coach party was due at 6pm....tad angry and let down, so we had to go elsewhere. We have just come away from the breakfast and what chaos that was!! Turned up to hoardes of people everywhere, full tables, queues throughout the dining room, then when you finally get to the food, most of it was gone, so left with a limited choice. It needs timed slots to avoid the madness. Not what we were hoping for when breakfast was included within our package. We likened it to a zoo at feeding time! Other small issue was, the room was cooler in the evening and we asked reception for the heating but were told not on till October, so we had to take a fan heater instead. It has been beyond disappointing and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I was part of a Large group booking and despite requesting a double room I was put into a single room. the room i was in when using the shower my head was touching the roof of the bathroom and you could not have the shower rose at its highest setting. the radiator in the bathroom was nearly jammed up against the toilet so when you sat down to use the toilet you leg is jammed up against the radiator. The bed was uncomfortable and hard to get a good sleep. The food was great and staff excellent

Our one night stay at the Angus was fantastic. Food was great and the Spa was really quiet and relaxing. (Possibly loungers instead of chairs would be an added bonus). The hotel is situated in the town which causes a little noise outside at night. Reception advised to book the third floor next time as it’s situated around the side with less noise. This was only an issue as I’m an extremely light sleeper. The room was spotless and modern with lovely coffee/tea selection. Nice large TV with Wi-Fi and Netflix. The food was delicious (we had breakfast lunch and dinner) very reasonably priced and tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful and we Will definitely be back.

Just back from a lovely 2 day stay. Room was beautiful, and very clean. Breakfast was delicious too! Treated myself to a massage & was so glad i did. Tessa was lovely & made me so relaxed! We never used the pool but saw loads that did. Also stayed in hotel one day for lunch which was yummy. Blairgowrie is a nice wee town with pubs & shops within walking distance. The River Ericht is right next to hotel so was a lovely walk during the day & at night over the bridge. We got a deal on Wowcher for hotel which included dinner one night, breakfast both mornings, an upgrade & treats in room on arrival and also 25% off spa treatments. Would definitely recommend hotel (and voucher if you can still get it)

A great location at an established hotel. The staff and service were excellent. The online booking for room, meals and pool were good: it saved time and I knew that we had reservations for what we wanted. The food was excellent and table service great, even when the staff were servicing guests from coaches in the Jute Room. Breakfast was great...as much as we wanted and the variety was fantastic. The only negatives are that the fabric of the building and its utilities need updating. The whirring noise of kitchen (?) extractor fans was ever present from 6am until 10.30pm (approx). The water pipes made noises when the kitchen started, another wakeup call around 5.30am. This may have been down to our room location over the kitchen area (which has a large footprint). Would we stay here again? Yes, probably, so long as we have a room away from the kitchen. The staff and service should be commended for their work.

Excellent trip and hotel met all expectations. Staff go out of their way to help with all requests and this is what makes it stand out from the rest. The spa facilities are ideal for relaxing and with easy access to the town centre where there are places to eat, drink and enjoy what the town has to offer.

Really lovey staff. Lovely food. Rooms are comfortable and we had a lovely view. Lovely and quiet during the week. There is live music at the weekends and tends to be groups of folk staying out late making noise on weekends. When we called reception about our neighbors making lots of noise they where up within a few minutes to sort it out. Highly recommend this hotel

Room was very small and poor window view. Breakfast area like a works cafeteria with tables very close together. Restaurant was very good for evening meal. Suspect if had chosen a bigger room rather than cosy one would have been in new part of hotel. Great value overall
