It was not good .the scotch egg was an old, hard-boiled egg ! With no sauce to speak of. The salad was old coleslaw and half a cherry tomato.Something on the plate was sour .

Stopped in for a bite to eat and my wife and I each had fish and chips. Chips were ok, mushy peas good however the fish badly let the show down. The batter, although crispy, was 'heavy' and had a strong taste plus was very greasy. The fish on one of the plates was passable however my wifes was grey and did not look fresh at all. We tried to give our dog a bit of the fish and she turned up her nose at it!! For just under £17 for each 'meal, The Meikleou Arms needs to up the ante somewhat and until it does we won't be back!! Such a pity that the food didn't come up to the same levels of service as the waiting staff who were excellent.

Went with family for a Sunday roast dinner the soup to start was lovely The cheese soufflé was only Luke warm and not nice at all. The roast potato potatoes weren’t roasted at all they were just white and hard. The meat quality wasn’t very good. We asked for extra gravy as the lunch was very dry and they charged us an extra £5 for a tiny jug of gravy. Not a great meal when the staff came to pick my plate of food up which I hadn’t eaten. All they said was was it too much for you but I had asked if I could have some roasted potatoes and they just told me that’s how their potatoes come.. wished I had taken photos so I could share.

Stayed at hotel and dined with a great friend who is a member of staff at the hotel. Staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive definitely recommend.Rooms: Excellent value for money. Ensuite bath and over bath shower situated in an annexe cottage 50 yards from main building.Food & drinks: Food was really good and reasonably priced as were the drinks.

Fabulous food, breakfast and dinner. The walled garden rooms are apprtments, well equipped and tastefully done, perfect for a couple and our dog, room out front for him and plenty of estate walks, he loved it.So good that this was our second time there ❤️?❤️

Good service. Very friendly. Food excellent. The only downside is the lighting from the car park to the entrance, my wife was injured on a bollard.

I was in Scotland with my husband and 3 children and we were driving by and spotted the pub. My experience was delightful - the food was fresh and delicious, and it was an all round success. Service was very good and the stuff were all polite and a joy to speak to. The setting of this pub is gorgeous and we will definitely be returning swiftly for another great evening!

The food was incredible. Daily specials were fantastic. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, very quick service and soft music in the background. Some of the best gastro pub food. I would absolutely recommend it.
