Omg love this place ?, the soup the sandwiches and the cuppas are all so so good. When I have my mum visiting she always says ? let's go there ??? Haven't had anything else so can't comment but I'd imagine everything would be fab. Always busy too, speaks in volumes. Fantastic customer service and very clean. I knew there was a reason I moved to Brechin ??????????

We stopped here for lunch on a busy Saturday and managed to find a table. The food was delicious. We had a chicken, bacon and avocado sandwich on lovely soft brown bread with lentil soup and a Chinese chicken toastie. Both came with crisps and salad. They have a good selection of sandwiches, paninis and baked potatoes for lunch. We spent about £20 total including drinks. The only thing that could maybe be improved is the atmosphere. It was quite dark in our corner and there was no music playing.Recommended for lunch!

Just OK as a café as we passed through Brechin to see the cathedral. Clean facilities.

Have been a couple of times - the food is superb. Feels like an actual person has cooked for you! Although we didn't have any on this occasion, the cakes looked fantastic. Nice coffee, very friendly staff and good value for money.

It started off so well. I spend a fair amount of time in Brechin and was delighted to find The Auld Bakehouse.I went for lunch last Monday and had the lentil soup and a cappuccino. The soup was very nice with a hot bread roll and butter. The coffee was also very good.Went for lunch on the Wednesday had the chicken liver pate and a cappuccino.Pate came with toasted ciabatta, salad and a lovely grape compote. All good so far.On the Friday I went for lunch for a third time and ordered a cappuccino, and a bistro sandwich with steak, cheese and two fried eggs.I asked for some fried onions to be added. This is where things started to go downhill. The server lady informed me that onion was not included in the dish, seemed a bit annoyed with me for asking, but I said I didn't mind paying extra for some fried onions. The dish appeared with two lovely fried eggs on top, but when I lifted the top slice there was what looked like 25g of steak, 100g of fried onions and some cheese like substance. There was also a bowl of fried onions on the side. Now, I'm not sure what she was trying to achieve here.It may have been a giggle for the staff but I just felt embarrassed.I picked at it but it was an oily, greasy mess of a sandwich so I made my excuses and paid the £14 or so, and left.It was crass, rude, and totally uncalled for.

Walked in for lunch and was impressed by the welcoming staff and the choice of food available. As to the quality of our food which was truly first class. We will be back…
