Nice family atmosphere with lots Servers on top of tabke service. Choice food varied from light to heavier meals. By early afternoon had run out if several users on menu. It's one if the newer restaurants on Clyde Valley run, infact best described as a large ooen cafe. Children welcome, dogs nit.

Found this when searching on maps for a stop on our way up to huntly. Superb place, staff all friendly, food was superb & plenty of room for kids to run around. Ignore the negatives, a full cafe on a Saturday morning with everyone being served quickly and to a great standard

As a family The Oven is our ‘Go to’ place. Atmosphere is always welcoming and food is always delicious and comforting after a hectic week. The girls do well and nothing is ever too much trouble. Had a beautiful afternoon tea from there recently for a family gathering and everything was lovely ☺️

Good quality food, big portions, friendly staff. Better than any garden centre down the Clyde Valley!

I visit The Oven frequently. Today my husband and I went for lunch, as I had a half day from work & thought it would be a treat for us. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, never an issue as we know it’s a busy place. We were seated and menus handed over. It went downhill from there. I ordered a soup & sandwich combo, asking for lentil soup and a tuna & cheese melt. I asked for chips in place of the salad. Husband asked for soup too plus French toast. The poor girl serving was struggling to understand- turns out she was new to the job & English wasn’t her first language. We tried to point to what we wanted. She then came back 5 minutes later and said there was no lentil soup left, so we changed our order to tomato & basil. Away she went again. After another 10-15 minutes another waitress came, apologised and advised the girl struggles to understand English (?). She handed us what appeared to be a half bowl of soup. I reminded her we’d asked for water, which she brought with my ‘toastie’. No chips, just salad. Husband didn’t even get bread with his soup, which on a ‘non-combo’ deal he should have. I advised her we hadn’t had a full bowl of soup, she said ‘but that’s the last of it’ (??) I asked for this to be reflected in the bill. By this time I’d had enough, and although she offered to get chips we had waited ages, so I declined. I then found my ‘tuna cheese melt’ was some soggy toast, some very dry tuna mayo and no cheese at all. I handed it back. Now, we got many apologies from other staff. They tried not to charge me, but I insisted on paying for my husband’s French toast. They offered tea/coffee and cakes for free. However, I just wanted to go home. The apologies kept coming but 1) ‘Everyone has to start somewhere and 2) She doesn’t speak English very well does not excuse putting this poor girl to work on tables when she was clearly struggling. She should have also not been put to work when the restaurant was at its busiest. Bottom line- we will not be back. Sorely disappointed.

Overpriced, badly presented, average tasting food. Badly organised staff. On the whole very disappointing experience.

Really like visiting here. The food and bakeries are great. The little shop is one of my favourites for fruit. Not the cheapest but the staff are so friendly. No hesitation in recommending.

Down side: Service is really slow even when it's not overly busy. We waited 20 minutes after ordering breakfast. And the orders came out wrong. On the plus side the breakfasts tastes better than they looks.Get there early or you will queue outside for 20 plus minutes once lunch is served.Plus side: Main meals taste good. Try the steak baguette. Cream tea for 2 is abundant with your choice of sandwiches and lots of cakes. The coffee and teas are great.
