What a lovely little tearoom. Great service from a nice guy. Lovely homemade cakes. We had the coffee and walnut cake- homemade - very light,spot on. We would've eaten there too if it were a little bit later in the day. The cooked food looked lovely too. Super reasonable prices. Very clean. Highly recommended. Ps Coldstream is very limited for cafes, food.Sad really.High St reminiscent of many a high street today - nothing of interest- looks unloved.

Our party of 11 visited for lunch while passing through Coldstream. All of the delicious cakes and scones are home made by the owner. The Afternoon tea was exceptional. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed everything they ordered and my dad received a complimentary slice of cake for his birthday. Will return if ever in the area.

Les portions sont généreuses et nous nous sommes régalés avec un délicieux petit-déjeuner typique (les scones sont particulièrement bons). Le monsieur qui nous a servi était adorable et nous a même dit quelques mots en français ! Nous vous recommandons de faire une halte réconfortante au Mad Hatter.
Passing through town and stumbled upon this charming place. Don’t miss it! Warm welcome from owner. Delicious home- baked sweets including the best scone I have ever eaten. Fun, whimsical decor. Several locals eating a full English breakfast that looked amazing.
