Very young staff team could do with a bit more training / polish.Choice of beer very disappointing considering variety on market, lager, lager or lager.Christmas night venue was freezing, food was good, band was good but out of place at this event, DJ set was best at dinner, should have stuck with it for the evening.Good value, not sure we will return.Rooms: Clean, fresh and comfy.Food & drinks: Good food well presented. Choice of beer poor.

It was the Christmas party night but wasn't a party night as such.The meal was nice. The vegetables were hard and didn't finish until after 9 pm the staff were great and could handle any unruly people.They never did games or anything like that.The DJ was good, and so was the band.Dumfries arms is lovely inside.

My walking group had a Christmas meal booked here after our walk and the food, service and surroundings were all excellent! Nothing wsas too much trouble and the staff were all very helpful. The vegetarian option was differnt and very tasty (I usually find veggie options in restaurants fairly tastless and unimaginative).Thhanks

This hotel is an old one and the service is that too. The staff could not do enough for you. It was well heated, clean, and tidy. The food was first class and was served piping hot. The room was clean and tidy although some of the floor boards did creak. The lounge bar was comfortable and the prices were in line with a hotel of this standard. All in all I was delighted with my over night stay.Nearby activities: Although Cumnock has few activities it's not a far drive to some of Scotland's most beautiful scenery.Noteworthy details: Carter's for weddings and conferences.

Had lunch here with friends but recommend booking a table. Busy with food but definitely worth the visit. Food excellent service very good and staff friendly and helpful. Lovely property with clean toilets.

Called in unexpectedly for a lunch. Time spent not wasted. Attractive menu, not overly fussy. Table service attentive and helpful. Starter and main hot, tasty, and well presented. Table wine very satisfactory. A bonus was the atmosphere was extremely pleasant the bonus being no background music just the sound of guest conversations. All in all something of a hidden gem. Parking not an issue. Return visit guaranteed.
