Always perfect, crisp, and made with fresh oil most importantly. Amazing ice cream as well. Honestly best chippy in 50 miles (possibly 100!) Always the best service, very nice staff. Parking is marked out only for short stay customers, with always seems to work well everytime I've visited. Fair price and portions.
Amazing ice cream
Apparently the queen use to order Fish and Chips from here....
Amazing chips but the fish was something else
Fresh, very tasty with Light batter
Just literally been in on our way back from Troon.
Fish I have no idea what it was as it certainly was not White it smelled awful and batter was soggy. Would have taken back but was travelling back to Newcastle. Chips were passable but overall this was awful and it wad £17 for 2 hungry guys. Where reviews came from I don't know??
Great chip shop
We travel around the highlands a couple of times a year and always take the A76 into Dumfries on our way back to the M6 so we can get one of the best fish suppers in Scotland, then some lovely ice cream as a finishing touch to our holidays. Beautiful fresh food , friendly staff and a friendly seagull that seems to have been there for years! Looking forward to our next trip in September.?????️????????
Love this place, highly recommend the lasagna and the fish and chips is the best in the town, lovely and clean shop
Food is okay but the owner is on a power trip I think. Never met anyone as ignorant and arrogant in all my life. What a horrible excuse of a man that is!
Sloppy service 2 hairs in a supper and cold disappointed will not be going back.
Restaurantji Recommends
Have been going for 45 years and never had a bad
The best chipy in Dumfries.Parking: Street parking (quiet street).
Excellent
Parked on balmoral road outside the chippy tonight, the road is a residential street, there are no parking restrictions. I was visiting the excellent Bruno’s restaurant, it is adjacent to the chip shop, I was parked for 1 hour. The owner has put three large signs outside his chippy (see photos) I was shouted at when I parked there, on returning to my car a sign was put on my window (see photos). I ignored the owner, ignored the sign, sat in my car then two men from the chippy came to my car, one of them knocked on my window a few times, I ignored him. I looked into the chip shop when they walked away, two girls behind the counter were laughing. Thanks for intimidating two women, great business etiquette. Warning to people who park in this street you maybe be approached by this man. The police were phoned.Parking: Apparently the owner owns the street and is a part time parking attendant
Very expensive !!! " fish supper" , Chips not bad, batter on fish was greasy not crisp , not sure what kind of fish it was, cod i don't think so ! , haddock , pollock , hake , halibut ??? could even have been basa ?? should say what fish is being served and a choice like other better chip shops , you can choose what fish you want, and a load of kids outside the front of shop making a fool of themselves , not good .
