As Premier Inss go this is mediocre. The trouble here is the curtains don't block out the light as it comes in above and below (needs some blackout blinds maybe) and you can hear everyone walking in the corridors it very creaky floors. The hot breakfast also want hot but cold, so they need to look at what keeps the food hot and improve it.Nearby activities: Plenty to see in Dumfries.

Check in was a bit chaotic as the systems were down, okay these things happen so no great drama. Got issued a room on the first floor as far away as possible when the three others in our party all got ground floor rooms. Asked to be moved as I have slight mobility issues but was told it was impossible. Trekked off to my given room only to find it occupied, fortunately they were not in the room at the time otherwise that might have taken some explaining. Back to reception to complain, got given the room opposite and a box of quality street for my troubles. Went down for a meal, got told cash only, fortunately I had cash on me. Went to the bar to order a Guinness, got told it was off, how much bad luck can one person have in a day?The food here is bang average at best and over priced. The quality of the food at breakfast was really disappointing and we all left something. I've stopped in a lot of premier inns and by and large they are great places to stay but this one is the worst by a country mile.Food & drinks: The food is average at best. The evening meals were slightly better than the breakfast which consisted of poor quantity ingredients, cheap sausages, tasteless black pudding and inedible mushrooms. Our party of four all left something.

Premier Inn, what more could you ask for? Black out curtains and massive comfy beds in all the rooms. The only downside is a limited amount of tea bags in each room, you have to go the reception area to pick up any extras.Look at my other reviews to see where I've been!Food & drinks: Bar closes at 21.30hrs during January

Disabled room was very far from the reception area which defeats the purpose of having one. Reception staff are very accommodating and kindly moved us to an easily accessible room not far from the entrance.

Small room. Dirty furniture. Broken toilet seat. Very old bed with mattress topper nothing like the advert. Bathroom with shower had for some unexplained reason had the original floor drain covered with dark brown vinyl so floor flooded and was hence a safety hazard.Food & drinks: Table table restaurant is nowhere as good as beefeater or Brewers fayre. Most furniture in restaurant is worn out. Coffee is not up to the standard of the previous supplier, served from a machine in half mug volumes. Toaster setting blanked off but set so high it burned the very thin slices of bread.

Georgia at the front desk was fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful, really appreciate her and it made a huge difference to our trip. Rooms are standard Prem Inn but the staff definitely made a huge difference ?

Typical premier inn. Not too noisy but not too quiet either but sleep was disturbed. No views as such but not really a problem for me. My only complaint was the walk from reception to the room was oddly loooooong!PS - Wouldn't rely on the brewers Fayre next door - expensive and poor service. However some amazing takeouts and places to eat are a short drive away.
