Had to wait on chips being cooked, haddock supper £8 each we sat at the water to eat it and it was the worst fish supper we have ever had in our life. Chips were wee chrispy things not fresh and the fish didn't even resemble fish,we felt I'll for hours, avoid avoid.

Terrible atmosphere and the place reeks of fish. Also ordered a burger which i was shocked to have found fecal matter in my burgers presence which was returned immediately and found crap in my corn

Hi, went in here on Monday 29th May 2023 and decided to order the sirloin steak what a disappointment we asked for them to be cooked medium came to the table and mine was way over cooked and unfit to eat my friends wasn't even a sirloin it was chump. Mentioned that I couldn't eat the steak and never got as much as an apology. That was more disappointing than the rubbish steak. This is no reflection on the girls serving who are always very friendly and helpful but the chef that day needs to learn how to cook a steak not one overcooked fits all

Awful restaurant. Had to ask if we could be seated when arriving. Poor customer service.Pizzas were spongy and soggy. Batter on the fish was like concrete. Not one of our party of 9 had a nice thing to say about their meal. Nobody enjoyed their food at all. Would not eat here again if it were free!

sit in or takeaway the service and food are on point not to expensive if you have a large family plenty to go round doesn't skimp on the amount on your plate great value for money and pleasant chit chat.

Went to the Starfish for takeaway fish and chips with mushy peas. The sign outside boasts its the best fish and chip shop in Scotland. Well, it isn't. Not by a VERY VERY long shot. The fish batter looked like it had been locked in a darkened room for weeks it was that pasty. The chips , although well cooked were luke warm and the mushy peas where more like pea water although to be fair they were hot. The staff who served was pleasant enough but my advice is avoid at all costs. I don't normally write reviews but this was by far the worst takeaway of any kind I have ever had. Appallingly bad.

The Selection of Food on the menu was impresive and Service was second to none All in all an Excellent Experiance

We asked if they served Gluten Free fish and chips to which YES was the answer. We were seated and served fairly quickly but noticed signs all over for Cash Only which meant hubby having to go and find a cash machine ! Inconvenient! The Starfish was over run with menu and pricing boards with so many items on the menu could they cook everything without the fryers tainting all fried things with so many different foods? We both ordered haddock and chips but the fish was virtually see through it was so thin and chips nothing special - not great . The shop/ cafe felt as though it needed a ' deep clean ' which would rejuvenate the place and maybe lift it a lot in our opinion.

Big mistake, I had the southern fried chicken it was over cooked, dry and the meat was grey in colour. My wife had the chicken curry which was simply curry sauce with raw onion and a dew bits of pre cooked chicken thrown in and then microwaved to a luke warm temperature. despite nearly all the food not being eaten the waitress just took the plates away not even asking about the food.

We popped in here mainly because it had a large sign outside stating it was the best chip shop in Scotland which I can honestly say is false advertising. The staff weren't the friendliest, no smile, no thank you, etc. We ordered what we thought was half pizza suppers but they turned out to be quarter pizza suppers and the chips weren't cooked and they we soaked in salt and vinegar so much that we couldn't finish what was eadible of our food. We also bought what was meant to be Mr whippy jce cream but its clearly wasn't the real stuff. Definitely false advertising and food was certainly not worth the money!
