Great food. Excellent service. Overpriced in my opinion but thoroughly enjoyed

Friendly staff, great atmosphere and Fantastic food as always. The Fillet steak and Mushroom risotto were both excellent.

Starter (wild mushrooms and spinach on bread); Fish'n'Chips Deluxe (with mashed peas); ambience in a good state; I was there for a beautiful lunch. There is an excellent service in the restaurant. Having a wonderful time a few days before christmas (reason for cracker on the tables).

Classy restaurant setting. Food was excellent and staff were professional. Quiet, but we ate early. it was getting busy as we left. hotel rooms great value. for me this is the best in Dunbar and I've stayed in all of the hotels over the past few years.

We popped in on the way back from a day watching seals at St Abbs - Great food excellent service and really good atmosphere - a bit warm in the room but it was a busy and popular spot and lots of water provided so no complaints here!

Annual bike club meal as usual in the Dunmuir. What an amazing meal. My wife and I eat out regularly and I have to say this was up there with the best, but there again I’ve never been disappointed with the Dunmuir.

Had the most amazing lunch. Turkey main was beautiful. Best turkey I’ve ever tasted. Starter was really good too. Service was really attentive and couldn’t do enough. Can’t wait to go back

Had another fantastic meal on Friday night, Philip and his team were great as usual the food was beautifully cooked and presented, scallops to start , venison loin was beautifully cooked , confit duck falling off bone. Thanks again for a great evening it was lovely to finish the evening in the cosy bar before heading home.

We celebrated our daughter's 30th birthday with a family Sunday Lunch at the 1902 Bar & Grill Restaurant @ the Dunmuir Hotel yesterday for 10 adults and 7 children (aged 14 months to 13 years old). We pre-ordered our 3 course meals. The food was really excellent and beautifully presented and the staff were professional, very friendly and provided an excellent service. We would recommend this restaurant and we hope to return in the near future.

Our kitchen is being rejigged and so we treated ourselves to Sunday lunch at the Dunmuir today. The food was excellent - only good quality beef can be served rare and taste as good, vegetables were fresh and not over cooked. The staff were friendly and attentive. This was a really good experience, a very pleasant surprise and we will return.

What a great start to our 5 day break in Sunny Dunbar (so they say). I’m a great believer in research paying off, so our dinner at 1902 Bar & Grill Restaurant at the Dunmuir Hotel couldn’t have been better. My wife’s Daiquiri & my Tequila based Mexican Wave got things off to a great start. The starter of chicken Bon-Bon’s with sriracha & aioli was tasty but nothing to write to Tripadvisor about! Our main courses followed in triumph - huge portions of the most tender lamb rump with gorgeous herbed mash and heritage carrots & expertly cooked broccoli. Individual pots of lamb jus attended the plates. Truly a feast but we come from a long line of lily-gilders & we’d ordered beer battered onion rings too - lovely but totally not needed & most were left, to our shame. Try not to judge us. Puds were inviting but absolutely out of the question - couldn’t eat a thing more, not even a “leetle waffer” as Mr Creosote from Monty Python would say. Service was on point, the ambience was just-so as not many tables taken but got talking to another holidaying couple. Muzak was 60’s & 70’s hits wafting gently in the background at a very sensible level. If the rest of my selections of eateries is only 90% as good as our first, then we’ll be happy. Well done 1902 kitchen, highly recommended.

Food pretty good, prices slightly north of reasonable and service pleasant but could be quicker. All said a nice evening with chums and I could be a regular if it were not “dog friendly “. I never want to sleep or eat with pooches so leave the mutts at home

We had a splendid lunch, our friend (who is known to be faddy) said it was the finest meal he had had for a long time, he had the Halibut and I had the Sunday Roast. It’s the first time I was back in the refurbished dining room which is so relaxing and comfortable. Food and service was impeccable.

Went here for a special family dinner recently. The service was fast but the staff had no clue what they were doing. The waiter set everything up backwards or for left handed people. The waiter also didn't offer us the wine properly which was a bit funny. We chose this restaurant because of the menus online. However these menus are all incorrect. For a Grill to only have the option of a cheese burger and a sirloin steak on the menu is hilarious and very poor.I had the cod for my main and it was lovely but the home made chips were soggy and greasy. The atmosphere in here was quite dated. I don't think the interior has been touched since the late 80s. There was child like drawings on the walls along with a sea life theme. It was a strange combination for a supposed fancy restaurant. We were there on a Saturday night and there wasn't many people there eating. That says enough for me.We ordered our last drinks after the meal which they got wrong then we asked for the bill. The place is reasonably priced and it was definitely an experience to remember.I'd recommend this place for an afternoon lunch but don't expect an à la carte experience or a stake lol.
