My experience here went from bad to great. We had booked a nice room through expedia, only to realize that the room we got wasn't the one we'd booked. They didn't advertise their less quality rooms. SO, if you're going to book here at all; book a hot tub suite. These are the only nice rooms in the entire hotel. Once we switched rooms, our stay was wonderful. I mean, as always it could have been cleaner, but the hot tub with the ocean view was a highlight.

Lovely hotel. Room comfortable. Breakfast and service very good. I personally thought bar prices a bit expensive but it wouldn't prevent me returning.Walkability: Beautiful coastal walks. Mainly flat but there are some uphill parts.

I have given it 3stars because it is actually only a 3 star hotel and lives up to that rating. The staff were friendly and polite.our room was very cold, they got us a heater (didn't really help... not powerful enough but hey, it's 3 star not 5) . Food good- ample breakfast. Toast served hot and in a proper rack!

Older Hotel with amazing views , surrounded by history .We stayed here one night , in a large room with a clean & tidy shower room , loved the toiletries.we had pleasant walk on the beach Had a really nice meal in the restaurant & the chef altered his meal for my fussy husband. Breakfast a full Scottish one well cooked and served by pleasant staff would stay again and recommend this hotel

Outstanding Afternoon Tea in a stunning setting. The food was beautifully presented and of excellent quality with a large selection of teas and coffees on offer. The service by Hannah was impeccable, very attentive throughout. I have enjoyed Afternoon Tea at many five star establishments and this is ranked one of the best. The sea view was an added bonus to the experience. Bayswell Park Hotel is only a very short walk from Dunbar harbour, I highly recommend their afternoon tea. Thank you

We just love Bayswell! We started to go there for my partner's birthdays and it became a tradition for us. The rooms are very clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. Their breakfast is very yummy. Since we love Bayswell a lot, we decided to hold our wedding reception in their restaurant and it went amazing! The staff helped a lot. Their afternoon tea selection is wonderful. Our guests were amazed by the great food and amazing view! Definitely a must-go.

Was quite disappointed when we arrived. Paint scuffs all over skirting boards, small bar area with was nice. Got the key to Room 11 and again paintwork up the staircase very poor and chipped. Booked a sea view room and to be honest that view was the best thing. Wardrobe looked like someone had taken their fist to it as it was all cracked. No room to hang my dresses and again paintwork chipped and stain on the wall. Bathroom was nice with beautiful tiles but a hole in the wall due to the door knob going through it. Holes in the duvet cover too. Booked into restaurant for dinner as we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, i ordered the chicken and was told "we dont have any chicken" nothing really on the menu suited me so chose the burger but due to being overloaded with onions and burger sauce i ate half. Very underwhelming stay and kind of ruined our celebrations. Breakfast was beautiful and food to a high standard and good choice. Raised concerns when we checked out and all noted and cost of burger refunded. We were told that the bathroom had been recently refurbed, did say re the hole in the wall. Not a hotel I would return to which is a shame as the setting is beautiful.

A lovely old hotel that has been maintained to a very high standard. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean as was every where within the hotel. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced and the views from the restaurant was absolutely magnificent. There was a lovely small bar/lounge to relax in and enjoy a drink and we found the drinks to be very reasonable priced. Only downside was that there is no lift in the hotel and my wife has mobility problems and registered disabled and we were on the second floor but the staff were very helpful and took our luggage to the room for us, now that I know there is no lift I would request a lower floor room but this would not stop us from returning. The staff were all very helpful and always had a smile on there faces and took time to speak. We were very happy and impressed with our stay

WOW! If you want a winning combination of an Afternoon Tea with fantastic flavours and an unbeatable view, look no further. Having stayed at Bayswell Park Hotel in a hot tub suite for our anniversary last August, we were delighted to see that they have added an afternoon tea to their offering and couldn't wait to give it a try. Just like last year, we received a friendly welcome as soon as we arrived and were delighted to be taken to a table right beside a window, overlooking the sea. Joel was looking after us and couldn't have been more kind throughout our experience. Having politely declined a glass of prosecco (what were we thinking) we were then offered a range of teas and coffees along with an amuse bouche. Both the sorbet and the mushroom soup were delicious and thankfully were dainty portion, as what was to follow filled us up for the rest of the day. We were presented with an abundance of savoury delights, sandwiches and may favourite...lots of sweet treats. There were so many options and so I won't bore you with the detail but needles to say, we (mainly I) was greedy and ate every last bite. Thank you Joel and the Bayswell team, we can't want to come back.

Absolutely brilliant. Stunning views from restaurant and food was superb. Staff very young but excellent. Had hot tub room porch and the views again breathtaking . Beautiful walks right on your doorstep towards town or along the coast. Brilliant stay in a lovely old building.

Really enjoyed our stay here, the room was large, comfortable and had a lovely shower room. Both the evening meal and breakfast were excellent and well served by the friendly staff. We can fully recommend this hotel if you are in the area, We will be back.

Very dated rooms and hotel in need of serious investment. Hot tub rooms have to be accessed from the outside so no way to go into dining room/reception etc without walking round the hotel and past other couples in " private " hot tub rooms. Rooms with hot tubs/private terrace overlooked by rooms above also. Nothing like the pics on the website. However, food for breakfast was really good, staff are friendly and approachable and when we raised a issue it was dealt with. Manager refunded us a small percentage of the room cost back. Great location and views, just in need of a lot of money to justify their rates in my opinion.
