Beautiful place to stay. Been a few times now. Short walk down to the beach and about 10 min walk into town.

The hotel is located very close to the town center and has ample parking, the staff and owner were very friendly and helpful the rooms were clean the bed was comfortable with a good night's sleep, breakfast was lovely too with a quick service as you preorder the night before, the hotels bar was small but cozy with a friendly atmosphere, if I'm in the area again I'd definitely stay here .

We have just returned home after the most enjoyable overnight at the Dunmuir Hotel. On arrival, we were met with a lovely young man at reception, who checked us in, and explained how to order breakfast etc. We stayed in the Yosemite room. Absolutely stunning! Period features, beautiful cornicing, huge, comfortable bed, with the comfiest pillows! Bathroom lovely and clean too.We had booked dinner at 1902 Restaurant and are so thankful we did! The decor is beautiful! Food was absolutely tremendous! Best chips I've ever eaten! Staff were attentive and friendly, and a superb wine list too!We then went through to the bar for a small nightcap. Massive selection of gin and whisky, and again, tastefully decorated with a real cosy feel.Breakfast this morning was delicious! Huge selection of items, and again, terrific service. We will most definitely return, it's a smashing hotel, and ticks every box! Thank you for a lovely stay Rooms: Our room was spacious, clean and stunning!Food & drinks: Restaurant was fabulous! Great menu, and wine list!

Didn't stay, so cannot comment on rooms. My review is about the restaurant.Had an excellent meal at the 1902 Grill. Staff were attentive and friendly, absolutely no problem taking the dog as they have tables set aside for those of us with a canine companion and no issue getting water for the dog (and even a treat). Starters were lovely, fish and chips spot on, my medium rare steak was cooked perfectly with a beautiful pink peppercorn sauce. Prices were reasonable and food is the correct level for the hotel, far above pub food, but also doesn't try to be pretentious. Portion sizes were generous, and the proper chips done just right. Didn't have dessert as was stuffed but going by the mains, would expect them to be just as top notch.Restaurant chairs are comfortable and the room size is small enough to be atmospheric but not so small as to feel crowded. Also had a quick look at the bar/lounge area which looked very welcoming and will definitely be back to try out this area.I'd say a bit of a hidden gem for the area and well worth a visit. Well done to the owner and staff, an absolutely pleasant lunch was had.

Had an absolutely fantastic meal at the Dunmuir Hotel, the restaurant is beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming and the staff were friendly and attentive. Our children did not want starters so we asked for their mains to be brought with our starters - nothing was any bother, the food was wonderful and the steak was cooked exactly to perfection.I was extremely impressed by the way the management dealt with some particularly obnoxious drunk customers who were disputing their tables bill and clearly looking for a discount, it was handled very discreetly and I'd say most other diners were unaware of the situation. My husband actually went to the front desk to ask if the staff were OK when we overheard one of the men from the drunk party rejoin his group with the words 'she's lucky she's not a man'. Appalling customer behaviour but very professionally dealt with. I would not hesitate to recommend the Dunmuir hotel.

Nice hotel but restaurant only for food so we couldn't order any sandwiches, we met family there, they had eaten on the way only thing we could have was packets of crisps but there was coffee and tea

Stayed for 1 night as part of a cycling trip. Very comfortable and stylish bedroom with a modern immaculate bathroom. Had dinner and breakfast in the 1902 Grille restaurant. Both meals were well presented, fresh and delicious. The ambience of the hotel is warm and welcoming. Staff were friendly and helpful and appeared to enjoy working there. Would certainly return and recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Spotlessly clean, very comfy bed - a great nights sleep. Lovely restaurant and we liked the bar, although it was very quiet during our stay. Didn't have much contact with the staff but the ones we saw were pleasant. Would definitely recommend.

What a lovely place to stay in Dunbar! The room was quaint and clean, and the service was friendly. The food quality in the attached restaurant was top notch and we loved having a drink in the cosy bar before and/or after dinner. I’m already planning my return to Dunmuir next summer. Thank you for a delightful and relaxing visit!Nearby activities: We enjoyed walking along the sea wall, seeing the castle ruins, watching the tide come in, and touring Belhaven Brewery.Walkability: A 10-minute walk to High Street, close to the sea, and less than a block from the bus stop if coming in from Edinburgh on the X7.

One of Dunbars best kept secrets. This recently refurbished hotel and restaurant is superb. The restaurant is gorgeous and comfortable, the food is OUTSTANDING and the service is excellent not to mention sensible pricing.I genuinely couldn't recommend this excellent establishment more highly.

I am writing this review to share my positive feedback and appreciation for the outstanding service and memorable moments we encountered throughout my stay. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality. The check-in process was swift and efficient, and the staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room exceeded our expectations in every way. It was clean, well-appointed, and provided all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. We had exceptional dining options available especially the breakfast buffet which was a delightful culinary experience, offering a wide variety of delicious and fresh options to suit every taste. The attentive waitstaff made us feel welcome and attended to our needs with great care. Furthermore, I would like to commend the entire hotel staff for their outstanding service. The Dunmuir was perfectly located to explore the surrounding area for golfer, walkers and cyclists and sightseers. It should be noted also dog friendly. The owners also went to the trouble of posting back to my home a charger cable left in the room. All in a wonderful experience highly recommended.
