Had a meeting so didn't get to try the sandwiches which looked amazing but the almond croissant and flat white were damn good.

I received poor service, if it's the only poor review in years move on, I will too.

Found this gem round the corner from the hotel. Great coffee and breakfast. Can get busy at the weekend so arrive early although there is additional seating downstairs. Good food and coffee simply done.

This is my go to coffee shop when I'm in Dundee. Lots of food and drink options (they have coconut milk!) in a nice setting.

Went here for breakfast since it is just around the corner from my hotel. Loved the coffee. The food was also very nice and the staff really friendly.

Empire State Coffee Shop is a great little Cafe in Dundee City centre. Situated on Whitehall Crescent, just behind Malmaison Hotel and very close to the V&A museum, it has a great ambience and friendly staff. There was a lovely selection of fresh food, including Bagels, panini and a sourdough Croissant I really enjoyed. The pastries were huge and looked amazing, plus the coffee, which they have been blending and roasting for over ten years, was smooth but full of flavour. The cafe is well worth the visit and I was so impressed I went twice while attending the Dundee Jazz Festival.

Just popped in for a coffee and glad we did. Great coffee which extended to a couple of superb pastries. If you want to try something different from the large coffee chains then this fits the bill

The b1gman approves of this artisan coffee establishment. The only joint in Dundee that can actually make a decent coffee.
