Oh! what a surprise. Picked out as somewhere to meet for lunch by our 7 year old granddaughter as it had books within and she could get her soup with a cream cheese and smoked salmon sandwich. Pops & Grandma sceptical, but, she was right. Great menu great cooking, friendly staff. Great lunch.Highly recommend

Great selection of food, very reasonably priced for afternoon tea. Lovely quirky environment. I’ll definitely be back again.

Staff are always hard working and the food is flavourful and cooked with love you can tell. Lovely experience every time I go hear. I'd recommend booking for busy times of day or the yh evening offer a 'hire a picnic' p to package with drinks and food. Would love to see more specials and options every now and again but I do live it here and will return. Delicious slaw too.

Disappointed, had read reviews and was expecting a lot better. The place was cold, the tea became cold by the time our food had arrived. I had ordered the spicy meat open ciabatta, it was laughable. Slices of Spanish meats and more onion than should ever be classed as acceptable. Zero dressings on salad which was doubled up on the ciabatta and plate. If I was a rabbit that would have been a fine meal

We visited today with our 2 young children, having been before we were expecting the same brilliant service and tasty food. Unfortunately this was not the case today! The young girl serving us maybe needs some re training or guidance. We had only been sitting with menus for about 3 minutes when we were asked if we knew what we wanted; my 2 year old didn't even have his coat off yet. She came back after 5 minutes or so, I asked if I could add red onion marmalade onto a toastie and was looked at as if I had a second head, she said she didn't know but would ask. On returning she stated she couldn't add thus on to my toasties but they would put it on the side..... I'm not sure why this was such a difficult request? It was quite clear we were not finished our meal and she came accross and began to clear plates; these were not empty. She tried to take a soup mug which was still half full. We began gathering our things to leave and she swooped in to clear the rest of the table, my 2 year old wasn't finished his sandwich (granted it looked like chaos.....but he's two) he had a total meltdown and ran after her crying that he wasn't finished, she completely ignored him and threw what was left on his plate straight in the bin in front of him leaving him inconsolable. I went to speak tk someone regarding this to be told there was no more gluten free bread with a shrug of the shoulders. She would remove it from the bill though.....obviously this wasn't the solution I was looking for - my 2 year old doesn't understand that we don't need to pay for it, he is still hungry and extremely upset. I stated this to her, she miraculously then managed to find another piece of gluten free bread and made him half a sandwich. This wasn't removed from the bill and there wasn't any sort of apology for being made to feel like we were being rushed out the door. I would understand if they were busy but there was only 2 other seated tables. Extremely disappointed ?

We dropped in for a lunch date. The decor is very fun with colourful tea pots hanging from string. My partner loved the adjoining book shop, with its hidden gems and some first editions. The food was tasty and filling, and the cakes were amazing. My lemon and earl grey cake was zesty and light, while my partner's caramel one was warm and sweet. It was the perfect little lunch spot hidden away.

We went at lunchtime and had a lentil soup and a humus/roasted vegetable sandwich , Both very tasty and reasonably priced while the staff were very pleasant. Recommended.

Wonderful service, staff, food and drink (great coffee), a lovely mixture of books and very much on top of keeping their customers safe from Covid 19, a warm welcome back to normality, whatever that may be nowadays
