A lovely little place dedicated to the preservation of a masterful ship. In days gone by, Scotland was one of the great shipbuilding capitals of the world. This ship, in its classic, old fashioned design, is a wonderful emblem of that naval history. There's an elegance to the design but also a power and forcefulness: these are the kinds of ships that travelled through stormy and wrathful seas for glory and for patriotism, building Britain commercially and militarily into the country that it is. The character of the nation was forged in the tides and the storms, onboard noble ships like this. The fact that this ship is still in impeccable and shining condition is impressive.

Just on Thursday we were happy to present Ukrainians Together at Discovery point for the TSI Showcase event organized by Dundee Volunteer and Voluntary Action and Dundee Social Enterprise Network. Amazing venue and warm atmosphere. Thank you

This was an awesome experience. They do give Student discounts if you can show your student card. You get to freely explore the 3 different levels of the discovery ship. The museum before the ship is full of cool movies and learning experiences. Highly recommend this!

I arrived in Dundee on the Tuesday morning. As I came out of station, I could see the Discovery Point and what a fine looking building . I was invited to a conference in DISCOVERY POINT the following day. So I walked into the building and spoke to reception and asked for a wee look at the building for the people who have mobility problems. After looking at the shops and all the things that you could do in this building. I left the DISCOVERY POINT feeling very proud of being Scottish. On the following morning I arrived with my colleagues for a 4 hour course .There was coffee and tea and bottles of water. The view from our window looking at the River Tay was brilliant. We stopped for lunch and it was just what the doctor ordered. There was wraps ,sandwiches and cakes. We finished our meeting at 15.45PM. The staff that looked after us were very attentive friendly and professional. I feel like I could spend a week in the DISCOVERY POINT and still want more. I'm 63 and I enjoyed this building because it made me feel welcome.

The exhibition is terrific, very interesting and informative. Amazing to see what these men achieved, with equipment which by today's standard appear cumbersome or inadequate. Even the ship feels a little small and must have been rather cramped with all the equipment, supplies and men. The whole experience provides a real insight to the challenging conditions and heroic nature of the voyage. Staff around the exhibition were informative and helpful. The cafe on site is also good. A really enjoyable and rewarding visit.

Interesting history of the ship Discovery, interactive parts in the exhibition, as well as a look around the ship

A wonderful museum and a tribute to people, endeavour, ingenuity, courage and determination. Beautifully laid out, you are led through a story before touching the history that is the ship. A wonderful setting staffed by truly motivated people.

An excellent exhibition. If, like us you enjoy reading and looking at everything you must allow a full afternoon.Onboard the Discovery is also first class, but below decks would not be possible for anyone with reduced mobility (lots of ladders / stairs. On the main deck it is level but with trip hazards.

Discovery Point interprets the history of the RRS Discovery, with displays focusing on the British National Antarctic Expedition of 1901-1904 led by Captain Robert Falcon Scott. The collections on display primarily relate to the history of the ship and the men who served on her, and they vary from navigational instruments and scientific specimens collected on the ship's expeditions to personal objects that vividly represent daily life for polar explorers of the period.Moored at Discovery Point you will find Scott's ship RRS Discovery, where you will follow in the footsteps of him and his crew, see how they lived, what they ate, and witness their hardships and their triumphs.A great day out for all the family.

Great museum, information provided in a number of different ways of portraying and disseminating the information. The subject matter itself was fascinating and a great story of brave explorers. The boat itself still needs a little loving care but they are obviously working on this.

Really good day out with the kids. High lights are the roof room with cool projection and great views and the cafe. Staff in the cafe really helpful and it's good value for solid big portions! The exhibits well laid out and relevant, great access on the ship to poke about and have a good look. Lots of little items to bring home how they lived on board. Well worth the money.

Fascinating look around the Discovery (ship) and a somewhat challengingly large plate of Haggis Nacho's in the café.The Discovery Centre is worth looking around and we enjoyed the informative multi media show that is held inside the dome at the op of the building. Then over to the V&A. We'd heard a few negative reports of this and so were pleasantly surprised that it was not too bad. And as a bonus, from inside, the building provides some lovely view of its self, both its interior and exterior. There is not a heap of stuff to see but there were some very interesting items. And they were not pulling the con trick of charging to see things, once they've obeyed their legal obligation by allowing free entry (into the building) as per the V&A London

Take in the Gaia exhibit upstairs before wandering through the main museum/ route to the ship. Amazing and moving and puts some perspective on the distances involved. No extra cost. Ask at reception to add to your ticket. Ticket valid for a year so I may return for future exhibitionsWell done guys. Very well put together tour before my boarding experience

What a brilliant place this is! Started up in the Dome for a brief film experience. The exhibition was really informative and quite cold so wrap up warm!Spent about 2 hours here, but could have stayed longer. The ship is incredible and brings the expeditions to life. A little pricy, but when you read that it takes £2 million per year to keep Discovery going, it changes how you view this. Worth the visit.

Decent information provided on the HMS discovery and the expedition to the Antarctic, as well as access to the ship itself. Pretty expensive for what you actually get. The dome exhibit barely touches on history, starting off with pushing climate change panic, seems out of place in museum about the HMS discovery.... The second half at least shows to a imagined view of Dundee in 1901, after having children parrot words of a panic for climate change, so that was pretty cool at least, but not really a must see. Not a climate change denier, but the alarmism in this exhibit was palpable... No place in a historic exhibit and my initial impression when buying tickets was that it had nothing to do with this.
