My wife and I went to the Ship Inn for lunch on Thursday the 7th and we had an excellent meal, the Cullen Skink was incredible and a really good portion. My wife’s cheese and pickle sandwich was also very good and the service was excellent. I would recommend the Ship Inn to anyone.

Excellent restaurant above busy pub. The food is high quality (and the portions defeated us - try the seafood platter, just great); the decor and buzz of the restaurant give it a great atmosphere. Staff were quick and friendly. Well worth a visit but I think booking is probably a good idea.

Last night we went to the Ship Inn with friends. The front restaurant was very busy. The staff were brilliant, they were polite, attentive and very professional. As for the cuisine, what can one say ? We had Cullen Skink ( fantastic ! ), Highland chicken and fish pie etc . The New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc wine was on a par with Cloudy Bay, superb ! Without a doubt, The Ship Inn is one of the best restaurants in Broughty Ferry. We are looking forward to our return. Jeff Stewart ( Senior )

Starter was good but we had ordered Salmon steaks, they were RAW in middle, asked to get it cooked, they send it out after being micro waved with nil fir presentationComplained and owner Steve was rude and failed to deal with issue. Instead simply stated not happy don’t bother come back. This is after being loyal for over 20 years.Worst meal in my living memory and pathetic customer serviceDon’t go there I my recommendation,,,Parking: Broughty Ferry is lovely and well worth a visit. Parking on street.

We really enjoyed our food, the service was excellent and the lovely sea view. It was a busy and humid Friday night, the staff must have felt very professional. We had the Fish basket which we really enjoyed, I would highly recommend it. I choose the meringue for dessert which was huge and a bit dry, however, I asked the waitress for some more cream, which arrived very promptly, again with a smile. My husband Cheese and biscuits which was perfect. I would love to eat here again.

Stopped in for a drink and I must say that the service from the barmaid, Carol, was immense but really feel sorry for her as she was on her own and seemingly expected to cope with a lot of duties. Staffing levels are appalling ?.p

Went in for some food and a drink in the bar on a wet Tuesday lunchtime. Their Cullen Skink was just wonderful, as was the 80/-. Service was excellent. A very cosy and lovely place. 100% recommend!

After a long day at the V&A and the Discovery we needed a good meal. Made a last minute call to The Ship Inn and they fitted us in straight away. We were not disappointed. The staff were so lovely and as for the food was concerned it was amazing and the portion sizes were incredible. All good value for money. If your in the Dundee area and your hungry will regret not visiting.

Lovely views, friendly and accommodating staff, perfect food. What more can I say? Always amazing food and service here. A must visit when in Dundee or Broughty Ferry. Bar downstairs with a bar menu and then the main restaurant upstairs with a separate menu. Be sure to book though as it's a busy wee place!

Visited as a group of four, wonderful food and service. Fish pie outstanding. Very big portions (half sizes available in some dishes). Lovely welcoming atmosphere, will definitely return when back in Broughty Ferry.
