“Rahul is attentive. We actually came from pizza express, to escape their zombie apocalypse of soulless servers who gaze to your direction, but avoid making eye contact, don’t smile and are rubbish. Brewdog all the way and Rahul is the best. When he came over, made eye contact, smiled and asked genuine questions we knew we should never have bothered with pizza express. He looked after our table really well with dynamic energy, kindness, promptly, never forgetting an item. THANK YOU!”

“Always an amazing visit to cocktail geeks. So much attention to detail and the drinks are all fun, with the little surprises! This is our 3rd visit and the staff are all wonderful also, the guy that served us was brilliant - didn’t get his name but if you were wearing blue and red shades it was you, big shout out. “A must visit place while in Edinburgh. An icon in Scottish food. they take reservations, it gets booked quickly but also take walk-ins although the average wait is an hour. Great atmosphere , good food but limited variety/options. You will enjoy it!”

“We came here on our trip because it was recommended to us by another bartender in the city! We had a great time. The atmosphere was great and all of the staff were attentive and helpful! The drinks were amazing…. We frequently try new cocktail bars near us and of course when we travel as well. If we come back to Edinburgh, we will certainly be back! I will also recommend to anyone traveling here! Great experience on our last night in the city!”

“Everything you could want from a Pub Bar. Immediately friendly staff, relaxed environment, great menu, solid selection of drinks.

And to top it the food is simply lovely. During our trip to the London and Edinburgh this was our top meal. Surprisingly the wings were top notch, and the Mac and burger were both executed perfectly. Jealous of the locals that call this place home.”

“A late dinner after a Fringe show. Polly, our waitress was great. Professional, friendly, and made us laugh. The food service was quick. We loved our meals (cheeseburgers and the charcuterie board). Overall, a really pleasant, easy and enjoyable experience.”

“Half price cocktails, and they were good. We stopped here for a break. Emma was great. Made my strawberry margarita with salt rim as requested. Also had the zombie. Zombie was so good we got it again second round. Also hadNachos to share The atmosphere is great and the service is good. Recommend if in the area. It is a really nice place. Toilets were clean also.”

“Excellent cullen skink (haddock chowder) and steak pie. Very friendly staff. Sports pub with rugby on TV. Reservations are taken but we were able to have lunch without them.”
