The ambiance effortlessly blends historic charm with contemporary elegance, setting the stage for a memorable evening. Every dish served is a testament to the chef's prowess, with a menu that left us thoroughly impressed and craving more. “* A note on grades, I rate outwards from three stars. *A culinary highlight of our trip to Edinburgh and London in May of '23. We arranged for a late lunch on a gloomy Friday and were immediately charmed by the attentive (though not intrusive) service. The drinks and locally sourced food were top-flight.Highly recommended if you find yourself in the Edinburgh area. Make reservations.”

“A must try restaurant in Edinburgh! The service was great, and really appreciated the recommendations from the waiter, especially as a vegetarian. The celeriac steak was amazing, and so was the sticky toffee pudding! The dinner deal before 6:30pm is definitely worth it, but make sure to book in advance.”

“Fantastic meal. I had the chicken thai salad and the flavor and texture was perfect. Son has a tree nut and peanut allergy and we were delighted with the care they took with him, to doublecheck that he could have the Haggis/Tatties/Neeps and lamb shoulder and even the sticky toffee pudding! When they brought the starter over they even made sure to tell my son before he asked that the garnish was oatmeal, not nuts. Food was delicious and service was very friendly. I would eat here again in a heartbeat.”

“Easy pub to miss, despite being on a main street. That would be a pity as the food and drinks are definitely a cut above most pub fare. Friendly service. As others have said, the range of whiskies is beyond impressive and their flytes are well curated.”

“I can not say enough about The Grain Store. Paul, our host/owner, was warm and welcoming. Carlo, our owner/chef, did not disappoint: delicious food from starters to mains to dessert. Lucy and Sonya, our servers/bartenders were spot on every time. Highly recommend The Grain Store. Will definitely be back next time in Edinburg.”
