A very impressive meal in an atmospheric setting , service was superb from the 2 managers and the young professional staff, the food was excellent and well presented , plates were not overflowing but there was enough that we didnt feel cheated , I had the Burrata to start with Balmoral chicken for mains and the cheese platter to finish , all beautifully presented , perfectly cooked and just sensational , its not cheap but you are paying for quality , restaurant was packed on a cold Sunday night and I cant recommend this highly enough

Vampires welcome. It was very dark and moody but very stylish. Food was great would highly recommend, but after we ate there was no atmosphere in the hotel so sat for about 30 min then just went back to the room!

Fabulous experience. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely, friendly, chatty staff. Great stop over when driving north or south

We had two meals in the grill during our stay in the hotel both experiences were positive. Starters were really good and well presented. Mains for 1st night were rigatoni, which were large portions and high quality, full of flavour. Our server was lovely and very attentive. 2nd night mains fillet steak cooked to perfection, and my wife had spiced Dahl which she said was delicious, truffle chips with Parmesan to die for. Staff really professional and friendly, we will come again.

£12 for a starter and some mains at £26 seem just a little steep for a hotel in South Queensferry. However, the quality of the food almost justified the prices. The squid starter was extremely fresh and tasty; the fish and chips plentiful and melt-in-the-mouth soft and the apple tart desert was just right. The wine menu is extensive and mostly reasonable (£44 for a bottle of NZ sauvignon blanc). The service was spot on, not too fussy and just at the right pace. The restaurant wasn't busy so I can't comment on what it would be like if it was. Overall, if you are staying at the hotel and want to not bother going out, then I would highly recommend it. I'm unsure whether we would specifically go to the hotel for just the food though as lovely as it was...!

Top notch service , especially from Breejet (apologies for spelling) and her husband. They made our time in the bar and grill amazing to see the least. Breejet went above and beyond for us and I'm still not believing this lovely lady is 50 years old. They are both an absolute asset to Dakota bar and grill. Big hugs to both. We will be back.?

Driving around for sightseeing and looking for a late lunch. At 3pm only bar menu was available but enough to indulge. Very charming decoration, great food, nice wines and excellent service. Very kind and knowledgeable staff. The sourdough bread with Venetian dip was quite remarkable and the battered fish and chips quite big and tasty. The place exceeded our expectation definitely… its a bar and grill of a pretty large hotel.

Lovely restaurant in a fantastic hotel. Our only meal here was breakfast and our full Scottish breakfast is excellent.Breakfast was also well done. In the evening the restaurant and bar are packed. This is obviously a place to go. Prices good.Attentive and professional staff.

Met with friends for a meal and overnight, server excellent, Sunday menu is different but the Sunday stay deal is good value. Meal was excellent, restaurant and bar have a good feel.
