I usually don’t write reviews but I had to because I had the worst dining experience ever. How are they even running the place I don’t know. Rude staff, terrible service, racist (Asians but racist towards Asians only ?. Hypocrisy to another level. Please help me take this place down. PATHETIC place. !!!!!

Terrible service, they forgot our order and took about 45 minutes to bring our food. Except for one gentleman, every server was extremely rude to the point of asking “WHAT” when someone wanted to refill their wine.

All I say that the taste is purely Indian. It is super hot and spicy. Cooking style is old school, no stupid fusion so, taste is authentic. The food was served super hot, which I liked the most.

Not only is this the best Indian restaurant in Edinburgh but the menu is healthier than most (dishes cooked in olive oil rather than ghee) which has the added benefit that many of the rices and naans are vegan-friendly. Great to see that they use free range meat as well.Vegetarian options: Large starter and main selection with seafood options for pescetarians as well.Dietary restrictions: Very large offering of gluten free, vegetarian/vegan and those who prefer healthier fats to butter and ghee. I believe the meat is also Halal.

Amazing food at Indian lounge, the waiter recommended us a lamb curry. The curry was so tender and juicy.Vegetarian options: There were lots of veggie options and clearly shown that they are veggie

Delicious food, the Scottish lamb in my curry was so tender and perfect. All the portions were great sizes and reasonably priced allowing us to try a few different dishes. Brilliant experience would definitely return again!

Recommend if nearby. Decent, cute and affordable.Got takeaway and due to deliveroo problems they gave me a free naan for the wait. Naan was large and soft, yellow lentil dhal was spicy and flavorful. Chicken karahi and butter chicken were nice but very similar, they probably use the same base for things. May try their more unique options

Spent last night at this lovely restaurant for my son’s birthday and it was so relaxing, the staff were very friendly and our food mixed pakoras, coconut tikka masala, chicken Bhuna and peshwari nan were absolutely delicious and full of flavour. Ooh and try their cocktails strong and very yummy definitely be back thanks again

I'm so thrilled to have found this place on Rose Street in Edinburgh! My friend and I were hoping to find a place where we could settle in with some good food and catch up on conversation and laughter. We found it here at Indian Lounge! Service was ideal... always available but never hovering. Atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. But the FOOD! Y'all, this was some EXCELLENT Indian food! I'll definitely visit again and will recommend to friends/colleagues.I do a ton of reviews, and usually have lots of photos to share, but this time I was so excited about the food that I forgot to take the pics I'd normally take! Haha!

I suffer from eating disorder and I have to weigh food I eat. I always notify the restaurant staff before I come (it wasn't my first visit) but they know me and accept this. The chef always listens to my claryfications carefully and my meals meet my needs at every time I visit Indian Lounge.Dietary restrictions: Please see my above comment.
