Great coffee and spot for brunch!

This is one of my favourite coffee places in Edinburgh. If you are in the area, definitely go here over the other nearby options. It is always packed though, so ensure you get there with some time to spare before you meet your friends, so you can get a table.

Best hot chocolate in Newington so

I came for breakfast and got a soup and a sandwich, Soup was incredibly cold and when I told the person I didn’t feel like they care much. Microwaved it couple minutes so when they got it back the bowl and upper part was super hot but the soup was still cold inside.I didn’t love it, my friend told me that quite normal; I guess I wouldn’t know but I didn’t love it.

Good place to have a hot drink and a scone, which I can say is very good.

Nearly £5 for a hot chocolate and just under £4 for the coffee itself ,':/ They played some nice tunes though, and the staff are civil enough.

I live next door to kilimanjaro and it's got such a lovely, cozy vibe! the food is generally good and the staff are lovely. however, it's quite overpriced compared to other cafes in the area/nearer the city centre, and their coffee isn't very good, especially for the price. In saying that, it's a nice little place to pop into now and again to chat with friends or get a snack that's not coffee.

This is the first time I've visited in years.Atmosphere - its noisy - I would associate it with being in a busy bar levels of noise.Coffee -Great big cups of coffee - nothing to complain about there.Scones -The display for these looks superb - and we got a couple to try them out. I have never been given so much butter for a scone in my life - usually it's a tiny single serving elsewhere, but I'd estimate I had about 50g here. Jam was great too.The downside to the scone was in constructing it with the accessories provided. It was at this point the scone's structure fell to pieces both at the construction phase and at the consumption phase. We had a go at it and were successful, but not without fallout.Toilets -There are 2, one was out of order on our visit. The one that was in use was dodgy af. It could do with being bolted to the floor/ wall as for some reason it appeared to be loose.Kilimanjaro is one of many independent coffee shops in Newington. We'd probably return, but hopefully when it wasn't as loud.Parking: There is on-street parking outside this shop. Best of luck getting a space when you visit though.

Good food. Coffee is okay. No WiFi and no student discount.

My wife and I were in Edinburgh for a couple of days in early January while she did some research at the university archives. We went for breakfast here. The food was nice although it is a typical student

As per the other reviews a lovely coffee/breakfast cafe. Service is attentive and the food is tasty. Very popular with students.

Great atmosphere and I enjoyed my Fresh carrot juice here, but as a native of Tanzania, I must say that this cafe has nothing to do with Kilimanjaro or East Africa.

I'm really struggling to find the right words here. The scones were buzzing with flies, the hot chocolate was nothing but powdered disappointment, and the service, well, let's just say it wasn't any good. It's weird how anyone could give this place a good review.

You'd think that putting a tea bag in a pot and bringing to a table would take at most 5 minutes, but after waiting 25+ minutes still nosing of the tea ordered!! See ya....
