I always like to treat myself to one really nice dinner when solo traveling, and this time it was Monteiths! I came in on Thursday night but the kitchen was closed, but I couldn’t get the amazing menu out of my head so I came back Friday evening and they were able to squeeze me in (fully booked otherwise, though! definitely should make a reservation!). I had the best meal with the most amazing service. The next time I find myself in Edinburgh, I most certainly will return!!

Went in for drinks after getting lost. Friendly staff who know their drinks. Good and cosy vibes. Perfect to catch up with friends or just a late night date. Loved it so much went twice during my short Edinburgh

From start to finish, this dinner was a delight! Dayna, our server made the evening that much more enjoyable. The food was prepared to perfection, the service had perfect timing, not too fast, not too slow and the food and cocktails were spot on! We will be back!

Well what can I say. Me and my fiancé have been here a few times and I chose Monteiths to have a celebratory meal after I proposed that night. I messaged the restaurant ahead on the booking app to asked if we could have a quiet table as we would be celebrating an engagement. As soon as we walked in. We were greeted by the staff, showed to our quiet table. Not 1 minute later, a kind waitress appeared with two glasses of champagne to congratulate us on the occasion. The loveliest touch to an amazing night. Cannot praise the staff more. Lovely intimate setting and fantastic food with staff who complete the package. 100% recommend for any occasion like that.

We discovered this place on a whim whilst walking back from a pub and decided we'd book a table for our anniversary. My God, did it pay off. The service staff were so friendly and down to earth and the food was genuinely the best I have ever had. I had the scallops & venison and I was utterly mindblown after each. I'll be dreaming about this restaurant until the end of time.Vegetarian options: 3 clearly labelled veggie dishes

Great restaurant with well cooked food. Cosy atmosphere, not too much noise and enough space on tables. Service was fast and efficient with staff being very friendly and accommodating.Haggis and Ribeye with a beer for about £50, quite reasonable. Would visit again ?
