Didn’t expect this at the castle cafe and hope they rectify their mistake!The label at the Pizza area reads “Pizza margarita-8.50 pounds” and surprisingly they give just one pizza slice!This is a simply cheating!Why do they don’t mention “Pizza margarita slice-8.50 pounds”!And yes as previously reviewed it’s too overpriced!The total pizza costs whooping 36 pounds!Beware guys!Coffee was just average!

The coffee was okay and their scones and sandwiches were freshly baked.. so mouthwatering. Especially the scones. I would say the best ones I have tried so far! Coffee is a bit expensive though.

Very disappointed,you collect your food first,pay and order drinks. Having to wait for drinks to be made with a queue of approx 10-12 people,food goes cold,my partner had to queue for the drinks once he had ate so I could have my food warm.Once we received out 'hot' drinks they were intact luke warm ?♀️I approached a staff member and informed her of this and she told me she would replace them.We waited 10 minutes and no drinks so I asked to speak to the manager.After speaking to him he gave me a refund and also agreed that the cafe was not efficient and was not well run. He told me that he had informed his manager but nothing had changed. He was apologising profusely for the state of the place.Multiple tables dirty and not cleared, not enough staff on to manage the numbers, although the girl who served us was friendly-this was the only positive.Very poorly thought through, not efficient in any way at allWouldn't advise to visit

Honestly the best Flat White I’ve had in Scotland. Go for the Indulgent Hot Chocolate for the kids. Epic views from the tables.

I think the person who served me tonight (16 december 2023, castle of lights 6pm) weren’t trained well enough, because the coffee and hot chocolate they made werent up to standard at all. The hot chocolate i bought wasnt hot at all. And the cappuccino i bought, it was burnt milk. Mostly I was disappointed because im vegan and I asked the cashier if the hot chocolate was vegan and her only reply was “I dont think its vegan”, and she was unsure, but she wouldnt ask her manager or look at the recipe book. I work at a cafe and I would spend minutes trying to make sure that each meal I serve fits to the customer’s allergies and standard.
Absolute joke of a place. Waited ages for some soup to be available, had to queue for 10mins to get a latte while the soup went cold and then were held captive inside while they fired the 1 o'clock gun.

Queue, Which queue? Extremely busy but disorganised. Order in one place collect in another. Half hour wait to collect drink. Staff not pleasant. Everything seemed a chore. Extremely expensive and hot drinks only tepid. Will not return.

It's a cafe that serves food. It's really not all that special however it's affordable and on edinburgh castle grounds. Stop in and eat before you start your journey, lots of hills and stairs you'll need your energy.

Great place to grab lunch when you are visiting Edinburgh Castle. Quick soup and sandwich and we were off to the next adventure.

This is the only place you can buy foods and drink at the castle premises.Atmosphere is good, you can have table inside or outside well.You can use washrooms,but you need to get down for the washrooms ( use stairs behind the cafe).Friendly staff.I had a cappuccino ,but that was not good.
