Quiet little place, not busy. Perfect for a hot tea and cake.

On our way back from Dean’s village, we stopped by this little bakery for a cinnamon bun, which we then ate peacefully on a bench in Princes street gardens at the ross fountain, an experience which we thoroughly recommend.Oh the smell of it! And the taste! So good!Their cinnamon buns are made in the Scandinavian style and was delicious. I sometimes struggle with cinnamon buns because they tend to be dry, but this one was perfect! They open nice and early as well, which is perfect for us tourists who like to make the most of our day!The cashier was genuinely really nice and friendly as well, and helped us make a choice! If you’re in the area it is well worth a stop!

Food was delicious. My husband said the little egg tart/quiche was the best thing he's eaten on our trip. My rasberry bun was also very tasty.

we chose a wider sample, pleasant service, tasty fluffy pastries, I recommend...

The location I visited was in Stockbridge but may get their baked goods here. I had a premade sandwich which I'd not recommend and will never do again. It tasted fine but had obviously been sitting for a while as the rocket leaves were withered and dried out. About 35 minutes later I had the opposite of a party in my pants. This was an absolutely horrible experience and ruined the rest of the day and evening. The ambience was fine, sunny storefront, lovely employees, wonderful branding etc etc etc but beware! Freshly made things only from now on.

Have stopped shopping here as they don't take cash. Shame, I liked the Danish rye bread and came in for it especially. But no cash - one star!

Great place !

Delicious but it’s the most overpriced bakery I’ve ever seen. Especially considering that only few people can sit inside and have to “help yourself” like in a supermarket.

Their breads are excellent. All the sourdoughs are good but the Danish dense is amazing!
Very nice. Decent coffee and good choice of small pastries.

More on Insta @coffeescakesandcafes. I enjoyed a wee cuppa coffee & a DELICIOUS bun, not the largest sized cup but still a tasty roast. With products baked in Edinburgh, this Swedish cafe is a wonderful example of a small independent business thriving here in the city. The perfect setting for a wee read of one of my favourite books.

Really disappointed today. Bought a loaf. Levain I think it's called. It was not fresh. I know because I bought the sane loaf a few days ago. I enjoyed it so much went back today for another. The one purchased today was definitely left over from yesterday. The least they could have done was reduced it as other local artisan bakeries do.
