Portions are very stingy. Chicken fillets were tasteless and tiny. Mac pie was a dry shrivelled lump. Won't be back. You can't charge these prices and produce this kind of lack of quality.

Well what a nice surprise the chicken burger was...with a tasty fluffy bun, and fresh battered chicken strips Absolutely lovely.. Didn't expect it to look and taste that good I'd reccomend to anyone. And the battered mushrooms were tasty the garlic dip was yummy specially with the mushrooms..I thoroughly enjoyed my food ?
Xanres from now on. The presumed owner (the old gent who's in all the photos on their site) gave another customer a lot of grief because she apparently asked for a female server. On top of that he was licking his fingers before touching food containers and went in a huge huff when asked to stop. Food was edible.

Chicken Fillets supper and Haggis Pudding supper were left out to go cold whilst mushy peas were prepared, despite ordering all items well in advance. Chicken Fillets and Haggis Pudding OK, chips not good, mushy peas, awful.

What a great place, we were recommended Jax by a friend. We were visiting the area for a few days so decided after traveling up, to grab a chippy. Fantastic friendly staff, gave the kids a wee bag of chips to share while waiting. The food was great, we had a 10 minute drive back to our accommodation and the batter was still crisp and lovely. Great place, will 100% be back.
