I stay in many hotels around the UK due to work commitments and can honestly say the Novar serves the best Scottish breakfast. Food served during the day is also of a high standard. The service is excellent and always with a smile. Scottish hospitality at it finest.

Only reason atmosphere marked down is because restuarent closed and had to sit in bar. Noisy and not great for kids.. However once restuarent back open next week will defo get 5 stars. Food outstanding and service efficient and quick. Will defo be our go to for a Sunday roast. We had toast beef that melted in your mouth, steak pie just the same. Homemade tomato soup delicious and sticky toffee outstanding.

Great atmosphere and good drinks, very good little cosy local pub with a good selection of good food and drinks. They also on occasion have good live music which creates a great atmosphere and a good night the band Jacked being the best so far.

Nice place with, lovely staff, good food and a good choice of drink. Moreover don't hesitate to order a "coughs cocktail" from the barman to heal you a wee bit when the weather is bad ;)Vegetarian options: Veg meal if needed

Small, homely little pub where the food is fantastic. Highly recommended for the food and just getting a drink after work.Dietary restrictions: They will honor your dietary restrictions and allergies as much as possible. Gluten free and vegan desserts are available.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available.

Stayed overnight, really comfy room and bed. Evening meal was very good, with a well stocked bar. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Great food (Sunday roast) and lovely service from Scott.Décor of the restaurant is something akin to Fawlty Towers. Cosy and warm if not a little dated but this only added to the overall charm.Parking: Free parking available opposite the Hotel within a decent sized off-road car park.Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant and bar located on the ground floor.

Good value hotel. Very efficient check in. Really helpful staff . Room was comfortable. Dinner in restaurant was first class. Unfortunately the menu did not include a steak which would have been my preference. Service was impeccable the man waiting on tables was excellent although very busy. Breakfast cooked to order was a good start to my day

We stayed in the area over the weekend and decided we'd give the Sunday Carvery a try. What an absolute treat. The food was delicious and the service first class. To top it off, we couldn't believe how reasonable the price was. Definitely worth a return visit (or two).

Very nice place, in a nice quiet town placeIt only gets 4 stars because it's a bit loud with the walls beeing quite thin

Everything was good about this place. Was able to check in up till the pub closed, breakfast was great both full Scottish and the continental. Dinner was great also. Ample parking just across the street the only negative for me was being woken by the sea gulls but that only happend the first night. Staff were great also
