The fish wasn't the best as it pretty soggy and also stuck to the paper same with the chips. Only accepts cash to which I can understand. Not really worth the money for a fish supper.

Ordered a fish supper and single sausage. I watched the fish and sausage sit in the warmer area for thirty mins. In that time one member of staff handled the sausage without tongs or gloves four times.
When it eventually did come time to wrap the meal I told the staff member I wasn’t interested in the sausage anymore as the food safety was appalling. I asked for my money back three times only to be met with blank faces. In the end I walked out without the fish supper or my money.
If you think food hygiene is important I would think twice about Strathmore Fish Restaurant.

The dressed fish supper was top notch. The fish was nice a crispy on the outside with nice flaking fish inside. The chips perfectly cooked. Everyong cooked fresh whole we waited.

Fish cooked then put on its side landing fat to drip all over the chips, fish should always be laid on its side to degrease ,otherwise decent

It's been shut for what feels like ages . Its now reopened under new management . Went in for a fish supper and a white pudding supper for the first time since it reopened was not disappointed really good will definitely be eating there again.

Great to see the old Place open again. Gary observing in back ground, Irene helping new owners settle in. Fish took Little longer but well worth the wait. Not so much this time on the menu since reopening but they have just started out, been told
They will add things on slowly, But well done and look forward to coming back to try other things. 10/10.

Went to see what all the hype was about, got 2 fish suppers and some chicken nuggets. I have to say the wait was excessive as it had just opened and only 3 people were in front of me. the food was also hanging in grease and chips soggy. we ended up putting half of it in the bin. the Kirriemuir chippy is leagues ahead in quality but have to say the alyth chippy is the number 1 for me with loads of awards

Went to this chippy after all the positive hype and have to say I was totally disappointed. Chips were very soggy and the fish was hanging in grease. Sadly though I won't be returning after this dreadful experience. Ended up putting half of it in the bin

Finally reopened. A smile from Irene and the the new chaps are serving the same quality as good old Gary did. Bit and a half of fish plenty o they guid chips and some banter too. Value for money even if the price has gone up but it is 2025.

Best fish and chips by far in the whole local area . Gary's banter is also worth the visit . 1st Class highly recommended

When they are actually open they are great! Have to wait as everything cooked to order but have been known to wait up to 25 mins for a phoned in order. Second time this week I’ve been up and they closed.
