There were 9 of us here for the Christmas lunch on the 17th of December, meal was lovely, but very disappointed there was no crackers,Xmas napkins,or table decoration, certainly didn’t look like a Christmas table.

My friend and I had booked a table in the cafe part of The Mill, on arrival we were told that table was not available and we would have to sit in the round part. No explanation for this unavailability was given. We waited 15 minutes for our order to be taken and another 15 to get our food. The food was lovely. However we tried to order another coffee and cake and the waitress said she would return and didn’t. We then attracted the attention of a male server, who said they were short staffed and that, for him, lunch time had been “torturous “. I retorted it had also been for the customer. He said he couldn’t go any faster, which is not the way to appease a customer. The bill was then incorrect and my friend was grossly overcharged, however, this was rectified on pointing it out. I believe that this cafe could have employed measures to mitigate the staff shortage, however, profit seems to have trumped good service. Very disappointing.

First time visiting The Mill, thoroughly enjoyed it. Really lovely waitresses, great portion sizes and reasonable price. I struggle to find places to eat around Forfar but this rises far above the rest. Delicious Cullen skink, the best I’ve ever had! My little boy really enjoyed the play park and it was nice to watch him from the restaurant window. Really enjoyed the music too, was a good 90s mix. Thank you so having us and definitely would recommend.

Visited here on Sunday 2nd July in afternoon as we had two vouchers for cuppa and cake for £10 so as we had that and were with two relatives was expecting to pay nothing however on paying had to pay another £4 don't get me wrong coffee and cake were good but wasn't have to pay extra

We paid a visit here to-day and I was not impressed. First of all the music is too loud, they never think of those of us who wear hearing aids . We especially went to this restaurant as they have a very limited menu but on it is cullen skink ( a fish soup ) well they had none to-day and that is what we really wanted. They had not had their smoked fish delivery but the town has perfectly good fish shops they could have gone to . I ordered a small haddock and chips and that is all I got one small piece of haddock, chips and nothing else not even a bit of salad or peas . I did get a sliver of lemon . I will not be returning . If you are looking for a good variety of choices of meals this is not the place to be .

- [ ] Lovely modern facility which is literally just off the A90 and so ideal for a quick stop when you are driving …. in our case from Aberdeen to Manchester. There are lots of tables in two separate areas, one a restaurant with menu service and the other more of a cafe with cabinet cakes and scones. At lunchtime, all areas were full and busy but the efficient staff member who greeted us was able to clear a table for us. The coffee was a decent strength, which we did appreciate after a series of very weak, expensive coffees in Aberdeen. There was a choice of scones, and we also tried the Victoria sponge which was an average size, not too large and not too small - just as I wanted it. The guest wifi works well and the toilets are good too. Lots of car parks and the area around attractively rural with the lovely bright yellow rape seed crops catching the eye at this time of year. Perfect place for a break and a refresh.

Superb food during our recent visit. The young staff provided good service & attended to the tables well. Lovely venue with a log burner to give warmth.

Absolutely perfect! We went in for the Cullen Skink for a belated birthday celebration. Sadly they had sold out however the soup of the day was just as delicious! The staff were super friendly. The Mill is doggy friendly, ambience perfect for our family lunch and our lunch was excellent value for money. We will definitely be back and can't recommend The Mill enough.
