Very disapointed with size of cakes. The millionaires shortbread had been halved, but price was just the same. Profiteering, disgusting.

Great café and restaurant. The food is excellent, and so is the staff. One of my favourite places.

My friend and I had booked a table in the cafe part of The Mill, on arrival we were told that table was not available and we would have to sit in the round part. No explanation for this unavailability was given. We waited 15 minutes for our order to be taken and another 15 to get our food. The food was lovely. However we tried to order another coffee and cake and the waitress said she would return and didn’t. We then attracted the attention of a male server, who said they were short staffed and that, for him, lunch time had been “torturous “. I retorted it had also been for the customer. He said he couldn’t go any faster, which is not the way to appease a customer. The bill was then incorrect and my friend was grossly overcharged, however, this was rectified on pointing it out. I believe that this cafe could have employed measures to mitigate the staff shortage, however, profit seems to have trumped good service. Very disappointing.

Great experience and a good selection of gluten free options. I had the (gf) bruscetta and (gf) carrot cake. Both were good, but the carrot cake was especially good.Kid-friendliness: Lots of families with kidsDietary restrictions: Good gluten free options. Lunch menu included open toasties, steak and more
