Lovely staff greeted us with a smile. Attentive server quick service and a great lunch. What more can you ask for? They had fun Halloween decorations around the pub as well.

We drove for 7 hours to come here on holiday and booked a meal for 4 because we drove past the pub and liked the look of it. Can’t say enough good things about our experience, a class act and food to die for. I always love a beef roast dinner and I wasn’t disappointed- best one I have ever had. Highly recommend this inn.

Been a couple of times now and the food is always excellent and really good value for money. The Sunday dinners are amazing, the meat falls apart as you cut into it, a definite place to visit.

Did not enjoy our experience at all. Stuffed garlic mushrooms turned into deep fried freezer burnt mushrooms pretty much inedible. Sunday Roast was like a school dinner with over cooked beef, hard potatoes and undercooked vegetables. When I spoke to server that I could not ear it, she spoke to chef and he advised that because nobody else has complained she could not take off bill. Asked to speak to chef given I am a chef myself however this was declined and eventually roast was deducted. Great pub.. Lovely atmosphere and staff.. Will be back, however will pass on the food!!

Arrived for lunch wasn't busy. Excellent service and good selection from the menu, gluten free options available. Would return pity only located place before leaving to go home.Parking: More cars in the car park than appeared to be number of peopleDietary restrictions: Gluten free available.

Since the place has been taken over, it has completely changed for the better. Good atmosphere and good affordable food to boot. There is live entertainment most weekends and a good selection of spirits. Nice open fire during the winter months, and dogs are most welcomed. If you haven't tried it yet! I would highly recommend it.

I ordered oven baked salmon. Waited an hour. When it came it was microwaved salmon, and frozen solid in the middle! My husband had chicken balmoral which was also microwaved. Half of it was inedible. When I went to pay the salmon was on the bill. Oh said the waitress do you want that taken off???

This was an OK experience but won't personally be back. Greeted by some heavy metal in the lounge and brought to a slightly sticky but clean table. Wine was terribly overpriced at £20 a bottle, it was just about drinkable and probably should have been half the price. Food choice was fine and mid range prices for the area. Had steak and chips which arrived promptly. Steak was not very well seared and was about medium. Mushrooms were deep fat fried whole, which is poor. Chips were not bad but the star element were the homemade onion rings. Set up and priced to grab passing tourist trade I imagine. The smoking area is right beside the dining room and smoke flows in when people open the door, not great. Looked like they had a comfortable bar next door with sports on the TVs, could be good for a quick drink.

Had a family Sunday Lunch here, very friendly staff, quick service. Food was very tasty and arrived hot, always a bonus. Would have liked at least one light pudding, Pavlova or Sundae otherwise would definitely recommend this Pub, and will be back next time we are in the area.

Just been to The Abbey Inn for my lunch - have been several times in the evening for a drink but thought we would try it for a meal.In summary - An amazing place to eat and drink, superb ambiance, food and service. A lovely beer garden and pet friendly. I would give 6 stars if I could. I would recommend this pub without a doubt and will definitely be going back.Food - starters: 1 x Chicken Goujons and Breaded Mushrooms. Very nice, the batter on the Goujons were light and fluffy and the dipping source complemented these. The Mushrooms were flavourful and the breadcrumbs were crispy.Main meal: 2 x Sirloin Steaks (1 x medium, 1 x well done) both with blue cheese source. I am sum these mains up as "F++king AMAZING" Cooked perfectly, the sauce was to die for. The meal came with fresh vine tomato's, light fluffy onion rings and juicy mushrooms. The only negative is.....I could not eat it all!!!Ambience - A great feel when you enter. A nice log fire for the winter and an enclosed beer garden for the summer. Separate lounge and dinning room, pool table and dart board. Staff are very friendly and service is second to none.
