A very cozy little hotel with breathtaking views of Loch Ness, almost a small inn. A few well soundproofed rooms and a lounge accessible to all. Close to everything, very practical. The only downside was that I had requested a Twin room with 2 beds and it was a double room that was made available to us, without the possibility of change or repair. Excellent breakfast.

Great little hotel, the service was amazing and the meal was delicious.

So the hotel itself is dated and creaky, the food was overpriced, and location was excellent. But the reason we loved this stay is the local culture shown to us by the brilliant pink haired young lady that runs this place, Saskia. She was so pleasant and courteous about our stay then showed us the local places after hours. Thanks again Saskia you are the best i am mad we didn't take any pictures together but hope you enjoyed the night mode pictures of clear Scottish stars and hope you see the aurora again ?

Ole Scottish hunting Lodge that is in an excellent little town.Rooms were not too clean and we had a cockroach in our bathroom.Food in the restaurant was average. Breakfast was delicious but dinner wasn't that good.We tried to use the dining area at night to play a game and we were kicked out by staff who told us to go into a dark corner of the lodge to play games.Rooms: Dirty and outdatedWalkability: Very walkable into town. It was beautiful.Food & drinks: Average at best

A very tired and sad looking hotel. Took 9 clients here for an overnight stay while they were visiting the area. It's part of a luxury hotel group ICMI Collection which included 5 star hotels but we are unsure why this is in the portfolio unless it's going to be rebuilt or gutted. It's key feature is it's position overlooking the head of Loch Ness. There was even a load of coke cans and bottles discarded on the entrance to the property at the top of the drive. Not sure if this is a staff area but it indicated the way it's being managed as it's unacceptable as a welcome to clients seeking something special.I suspect it was booked last minute and wasn't full when the American agent needed to book their clients into Fort Augustus.Hope it gets the investment it deserves.

Perfect location a few miles from Fort Augustus, south, and Urquhart Castle, north along Loch Ness. Beautiful views, friendly, inviting hotel staff and fine wait staff in the dining room. Intimate. Perfect for a Scottish culture weekend.

Beautiful view, polite staff. Slightly overpriced and lacked vegetarian/vegan options for breakfast.

We stayed here for a night on our return from Skye. It has a lovely old Scottish country manor feel to it. The staff were lovely, room was comfortable and the surrounding area is beautiful. We enjoyed sitting outside at the benches overlooking the loch and a field with some Highland cows. The breakfast was also amazing. The village is only a few minutes drive which is useful. Would definitely stay here again.

It's a old, cozy and home-y place to relax, enjoy a good read, eat surprisingly well cooked food (bangers'n'mash with their whiskey sauce tastes damn well) and the service was great. Best(est) part of the experience was the sassy, cheerful redhead lady who was a delight talking to and listening to. Oh, and great view of the cute highland cows, too!

The Inch hotel, right on the Great Glen way, was a last minute choice as we wanted a good night's sleep away from the relative bustle of the Fort Augustus canal. We also booked dinner there. Our room was quite big and overlooked the car park - the only one on our trip with a bath, so that was a bonus. A decent bed too, but the tiniest token TV hidden in a huge nondescript wardrobe and bland decor. TV kettle wifi and to be fair, a good night's sleep. Our dinner was very good - a vegan combination of a carrot mousse and picked veg, then huge celeriac steaks with other veggies. I had a Fish sop starter, then a huge piece of hake, plus a chocolate mousse desert. The highlight though was a wonderful rainbow over the loch which caused everyone to leave their tables and get the cameras out. Breakfast though was spartan cereal and juice, but no vegan option - not even spread for toast. Welcome back to the 1970s.

Just back from a few nights and the Inch Hotel and had a fabulous time. Situated just on the edge of Fort Augustus, this gem of a hotel is bursting with character and has a spectacular view straight out over Loch Ness. The room was bright and spacious, with a view overlooking the loch. Spotless clean, with a good selection of tea and coffee, which was exactly what was needed. The shower was great and the toiletries smelt amazing. We had drinks in the cozy bar before dinner in the restaurant. There was a great selection on the menu and in the end I chose a delicious steak, followed by sticky toffee pudding. Both were very tasty, Chef does a great job! We were spoiled for choice at breakfast and definitely didn't need lunch that day! We felt very well looked after by all the staff we interacted with during our stay. Will absolutely return again before the end of summer.

We had booked a twin & were given a double which they did put right. The food in the restaurant was good but a very limited menu that could only provide variety for 2 nights. The housekeeping was very hit & miss with only 1 day where all things were completed, bathroom not cleaned, coffee not replenished, used coffee cups not cleaned etc.The bar is dark & dingy & is only staffed when the 1 member of staff is not in reception or working in the restaurant. The bedroom decor was i assume meant to be shabby/chic, sadly the worn & damaged furniture meant it was just shabby.Internally this must be one of the most depressing hotels i have stayed in. The staff are friendly & do their best but it always seemed understaffed. The best thing about the hotel is without doubt the location & the views but it badly needs an overhaul, just because it is in Scotland, not everything needs to be tartan.

Felt very unwelcome on checkin and our room felt dark and unloved. Details were lacking in many respects that sound petty to list but compared to other similarly or cheaper priced places we have stayed on this trip were notable. Wouldn't recommend at this time; hopefully it gets some love soon.

Really friendly staff. We had dinner at the hotel. Our mains were very good. Desserts were ok - not worth the calories. The rooms were a little dated.

We spent our last night in Scotland at this hotel. We wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel was very quaint, cosy, and picturesque. The location was incredible with views of Loch Ness and the Highland cows. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Saskia checked us in and she was an absolute delight! She was so friendly and accommodating! We had not made a booking for breakfast the next day before our early departure, but she made sure there was space for us. The food was great. Thank you Saskia for being such a lovely person! We highly recommend staying here at The Inch Hotel!
