Restaurants in Fort Augustus
Glen Rowan Cafe
Skye Road, InvermoristonI just popped in to grab a bite to eat and a coffee and left stunned by the quality of everything! From the service and atmosphere to the fresh scratch-made food; I chose a lovely veggie burger and chips and a sublime coffee and cake, I couldn't fault it. It's definitely worth a detour to sample it. Keep up the great work!

Beaufort House PIZZA
Station Rd, Fort AugustusThe best pizza I have ever had, and we have eaten pizza the world over. Hand stretched dough that takes 24 to 36 hours to make. Plus fresh delicious local toppings. Nothing short of amazing. We had the Beaufort and the Pepperoni. Woke up talking about it and the wonderful hosts. Sam who runs the tables and her partner Glenn who makes the pizza.

The Inch Hotel
Fort Augustus, Inverness-shiregorgeous building, in stunning location, views over Loch Ness are splendid . very pleasant staff. breakfast ok but could be more generous. rooms need updated, freshened up a bit but overall a pleasant stay apart from the radiator needing bled of air, not ideal in cooler weather.

Canalside Fish & Chip Shop
Canal Side, Fort AugustusAbsolutely fantastic. Highly recommended. Little canalside takeaway about 100 yards up side of the canal from the main road. Before going anywhere else, try this place you wont be disappointed. The fish we order was a gorgeous thick piece and very tasty. Super friendly owner. Get yourselves down to this shop.

The Lock Inn
Canal Side, Fort AugustusGreat traditional pub with a brilliant atmosphere, this seemed to be where the locals actually go, which always says a lot. The place was clean, welcoming, and had that proper old-style pub feel.
Service was good overall, although the bar was extremely busy and with only one person serving there was around a 20-minute wait for drinks at times. That was really the only thing stopping this from being a 5-star visit. The barmaid was really nice (a nurse who'd finished night shift, then did a shift in the bar and still had a smile on her face)
The food was excellent value for money. Proper pub food, generous portions, tasty, and reasonably priced, exactly what you want from a place like this.
Overall, a great night and definitely somewhere I’d recommend. If you want a seat without a wait, best to arrive before 6pm as it fills up quickly.

Cobbs Cafe
Canal Side, Fort AugustusNice cakes served on china plates, accompanied by tea and coffee in paper cups ! Not quite what we expect.
Smallish cake portions. £15 for two instant drinks and two slices of cake a bit steep.
Nice view beside the locks.
