Open fireplace in the en-suite beside the free-standing bath...The comfiest bed - a four-poster!Whole place in need of redecorating but seemed clean enough.Every surface covered in pictures, knick-knacks, interesting oddments.Menu with heavy American influence (the owner is from Pennsylvania) which was fun to sample, and staff were excellent.Renowned for great selection of real ales and whiskies which didn't disappoint.Very dog-friendly which was a big plus for us.A little bit pricey for the standard and quality of decor, we thought.”
