The Union Tavern
29 High St, FortroseCalled in to the Union Tavern on a coach trip and did not know what to expect. Was met with a warm and cosy pub with a log fire ... plenty of whisky to choose from and a welcoming hostess and friendly locals ... we will certainly be coming back ... thank you Nicky and Phil from West Yorkshire

IV10 Cafe Bar Deli
18 High St, FortroseTucked away in the sleepy Black Isle coastal village of Fortrose IV10 is an unexpected pleasure. Small from the outside it’s deceptively large and once you open the door it’s a feast for the eyes, nose and mouth. So many amazing dishes and they truly tantalise the tastebuds. Most locally sourced, all fresh and seasonal. The service was brilliant the team obviously passionate and took time to explain, chat and make you feel so welcomed. There was food for every palate and every dish was both generous, flavourful and beautifully presented. I cannot recommend IV10 highly enough, go visit. It’s sublime! Oh and they even have a deli. What’s not to love.

The Anderson
Union St, FortroseVery quirky. Open fireplace in the en-suite beside the free-standing bath...The comfiest bed - a four-poster!Whole place in need of redecorating but seemed clean enough.Every surface covered in pictures, knick-knacks, interesting oddments.Menu with heavy American influence (the owner is from Pennsylvania) which was fun to sample, and staff were excellent.Renowned for great selection of real ales and whiskies which didn't disappoint.Very dog-friendly which was a big plus for us.A little bit pricey for the standard and quality of decor, we thought.

The Plough Inn
48 High St, Rosemarkie, FortroseVisited here yesterday with my wife and our 2 cocker spaniels. We received a warm welcome from the land lady and the locals. The pub has changed hands in the last couple of weeks and the new owner intends to serve food in the near future. The Guinness was good and there is a good selection of other lagers and draughts.

The New McGinty's Takeaway
38 High St, FortroseSuperb experience. They serve some tasty food items. I had a single Haddock, Southern Fried Chicken and both were super tasty. The shop also serves some tasty locally-made ice cream which is thick and tasty. Customer service is one of the great highlights here and I would recommend everyone visiting Fortrose to visit this place. By the way, remember to buy the homemade Sour Cream and Chive dip before you leave the place.Parking: There is a parking spot near the old church.
