Something wasn't working right here, at least on the day we visited. My wife received short shrift from a very abrupt lady when asking whether there was room for our party of six. Then later, three of us having finally gained entry, I waited in vain for the coffee I ordered for almost 30 minutes before giving up and cancelling. At that point my order was still two away on the girl's to-do list. As we waited we watched various food and drink orders coming out of the kitchen and being offered to each table in turn. Apparently no-one had thought to ask the customers for a table number. Must try harder.

Fantastic lunch venue in Gairloch. Delicious and fresh dishes made from local produce. And the staff are so friendly and accommodating. And the home baking is mouthwatering and worth sampling - or they can wrap so you can take away!

Wonderful staff and the food is better than most restaurants. You will not be disappointed.

Fabulous café with really delicious homemade food and a great selection of cakes! We had the homemade cauliflower, pea & mint soup with the cheese & seaweed scone. Both were delicious. The mocha was excellent, too. Service was very fast and extremely friendly.Great views, spacious seating, excellent loos! The cafe is above the museum, but you can visit both separately. (although, according to the sign on the door, the cafe is currently closed at the weekend)Vegetarian options: Plenty & delicious.Kid-friendliness: Spacious and relaxed.Wheelchair accessibility: The cafe is upstairs with a great lift specifically built for access for everyone.

OK cafe but short on gluten free choices. Everything freshly made in the kitchen which is open to the dining area. We had vegetable soup which was OK- mine dame with gf oat cakes n Hubby's with brown bread. Coffee was reasonably OK. Service good but seemed pricey. But great having a coffee shop in the museum as need a break half way through.

The staff was very accommodating to our request for breakfast. One cup of tea and a fantastic Cappuccino were delivered to our table. In addition we were treated to home made scones that melted in your mouth. This brief interlude from our visit to a much underestimated Gairloch Museum added to our very positive experience. Finally, the view from the Am Bard Cafe is outstanding!!

Lovely staff, great food and lovely views. I’m gluten and lactose intolerant and the staff were fantastically accommodating. Came here several times over the course of the week and can’t recommend it highly enough. They do get busy so if your coming at peak times best to reserve a table as it’s quite small.
