Absolutely going down hill BIG time. No proper cutlery ie wooden spoons etc…. Dirty tables when you can get a table as most are out of use as lack of staff and paper cups ? what’s that all about….. dishwasher broken for ages now!!! Will NOT be back You do yourselves no justice COSTA GALASHIELS ???

Went in on Friday 15th at 10:20 for 1 hot drink but there was only one girl serving. I waited in a que behind another 6 people for about 15 minutes then left as there were still 4 people in front and I wasn’t prepared to wait any longer. The poor girl must have been under some pressure to get everyone served by herself.

Arrived at 9am and not open ? Then we see one member of staff rushing in late at about 5 past 9. Then we went to order and said we were sitting in. Asked for a medium Mocha to be told they only do large today and was given a takeaway cup. I'm not sure were the cups are? Extremely bad service.

Staff in this costa are a joke. The livingston staff are amazing so its not an overall issue. The two staff working 18/10 clearly had training in how to be obnoxious. Only have large cups available. Pretty sure that will hold a small coffee then if you push the button. “ No I can’t do that it’s against the rules”. Fair play…I think i saw the coffee cup polis on the way in. What about the sit in cups then as we are sitting in? “Dishwasher not working so we cant use them”. They ones are clean tho… “ yeah but it we use them we can’t wash them”. (Im dealing with a genius here). So I have to buy two large coffees then? “ No, you are free to leave and go elsewhere”. So 2 pints of coffee later I asked for a chocochino for my son. “ can only give him a large , and we have no marshmallows”. He would fit in a large cup. Can you get the dishwasher fixer to bring some mediums cups, marshmallows and a couple of better attitudes for you and your genius pal?. As we left I saw two elderly women carrying two cups of coffee that will see them through until the reaper chaps the door.

It supposed to be open at 9am seeing staff just arriving in at 9.05am. Finally opened at 9.15am no apology or any sort of explanation. Ordered medium coffee was told they can only do latge today. Again no explanation given. Asked if we are sitting in or taking away, we were sitting in. Coffee given in a paper cup instead of a mug? Not sure why if we're sitting in. I was not happy with the whole situation and therefore I am giving 1*
Nice and clean? and staff very friendly.We ordered two Iced Whipped Caramel Lattes, only to be told the equipment that does the whipping wasn't working.This is the 3rd dissapointment in three different Costas in one week. Faulty equipment, card reader not working so cash only and very slow service in another.If the area manager for Scotland/North East reads this, you have work to do !!PS, no hand soap in men's toilet at Gala.

Visit Costa often and always lovely helpful staff. We were in today ‘ it was very busy’ and only 2 staff working, poor girls trying to do everything as it’s normally done with 4 working. They did such a fantastic job but we felt so sorry for them and don’t feel it’s acceptable by the management. Very well done girls. ☕️
