Came to Gretna Hall Hotel to stay for a few nights and ended up booking to get married. THAT is how beautiful this place is. The staff are great, the food is excellent and the rooms are so clean and comfortable. Also the grounds ... wow! Nothing but pure green! Absolutely beautiful. Lesley in the Gretna Wedding team is also an absolute star in helping us organise everything. She deserves a medal and James at the front desk has helped us book all the rooms we require and is just so lovely to talk to. I would give this place 10 stars if I could, 5 just isn't enough.

Checked in Christmas Eve for a night Christmas break. Excellent stay from start to finish. Lovely afternoon tea on Christmas Eve, Excellent Christmas day meal and evening buffet. Wonderful buffet breakfast both days. The suite was brilliant and modern. Even had a nice hamper delivered on Christmas day by housekeeping full of gifts for me and my wife, which was a nice surprise. All staff we came across really friendly and got involved in the Christmas spirit. Will be back to stay again.

Stayed 2 nights and were on the second floor in a disabled room, we are not disabled but were given the room anyway, the room had a strange smell and the carpet had some serious stains and the windows had a gap so the wind kept us awake. Can’t fault the other aspects of the hotel but the rooms ( this one anyway 219 ) are in serious need of an update

Gilder wedding party: An amazing weekend thanks to all the lovely staff that made my Sister’s and New Brother’s wedding, the hotel, rooms, meals and staff were fabulous. The wedding itself was magnificent on the grounds of the hotel, can’t praise it enough. Gretna people themselves; so friendly and helpful and lovely. From the photographers next the the florist who rang the florist when I needed them, from the local garage who gave me information for new tyres when I had a flat, the hotel staff who leant me a pump, the guy at the garage who gave me £1.50 for tyre air ‘welcome to Scotland’ and the tyre people in Carlisle who rushed me through with two new tyres so I didn’t miss my sisters wedding… thanks all, you’ve been ace!Rooms: So comfy and clean. Iron. Hairdryer, lovely rainfall shower, plenty of space and lovely view

We stayed overnight,hotel room was fresh and newly decorated.Staff friendly. We had diner,very nice and no dessert but Expresso Martinis afterwards which were lovely. Hotel was busy with weddings but to be expected in Gretna.

Gretna green is incredible. The hotel and marriage facility is amazing. Friendly staff and so well appointed. Love the history of the place. If it’s a wedding or a small exchange of vows this is a must location.Rooms: Lovely well appointed rooms.Nearby activities: Gretna green gift shop and town.Walkability: Absolutely easy to walk. Paths and hills.Food & drinks: Great menu. Something for everyone

Lovely place to stay, but a few things they could improve, the rooms were not cleaned well at all. Hair all in the shower. Fresh looking stains covering the walls and floors.

Lovely hotel in beautiful setting, rooms are very good standard and breakfast was excellent, why 4 stars and not 5? Dinner was nice but not up to the amount charged!! Tasty but under seasoned and vegetables under cooked ( not even al dente just badly cooked), however would definitley return as may have just been a one off and everything else made up for it.Rooms: Very clean and well set out.

My now wife and myself recently got married here and I have only praise for the venue. The whole process was made very easy from the initial enquiry to the big day. We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights with our family and friends and we all thought it was wonderful. The staff Really looked after us and they responded to every request with a smile and a passion to please. The rooms were great, clean and fresh. The food was excellent and a great breakfast buffet. The grounds are wonderful and really added to the romantic feel. We loved the coach house where the actual ceremony was held as we did the kissing gate and outside pagoda with an anvil. We had a few children with us and they were treated lovely by the staff. My only suggestion would be improve the spirits selection at the bar. I would like to have seen the Scottish heritage of whiskey embraced more and celebrated. 2 minutes walk from the train station which is great but no shops close without a drive. That's no criticism of the venue but don't forget your essentials unless you like a hike. Thank you so much for making our special day so wonderful and a special thanks to Stewart, his service and attention at our wedding breakfast was great. Some accessibility issues for wheelchair users but lifts and ramps are provided and the staff happy to help with this. We will be back. Many thanks Mr and Mrs Lamb. (That's the first time I've used our surname jointly and it gave me a delight to do so)

Arrived Thursday 21 September for our wedding the next day. From the moment we arrived the staff and service was amazing. Such a lovely warm welcome from James who booked all our 12 guests into lovely modern rooms (beds are really comfortable). The evening meal had to be delayed at the last moment at my request due to some guests late arrival and the restaurant staff accommodated this without hesitation. The meal was fabulous not a complaint from anyone. Breakfast was hot and variety good (loved the haggis). The wedding team made sure the wedding went off without a hitch and was beautiful. Photographer Bill was very entertaining which made everyone relax making for fabulous photos. The wedding meal was absolutely phenomenal with the concierge ensuring speeches and gifts were given. Retiring to the lounge where Bruce tackled multiple orders of varying alcoholic drinks with grace and easy, we all loved him. This hotel catered to our every need, every single member of staff should be praised. You made our special day unforgettable. Thank you ??

Fantastic location, building and grounds, perfect for wedding photos.Looks like it was refurbished within a few years so still looks nice and fantastic power showers.Room was a little basic, no more than a good premier inn but who wants to get married at the premier inn.

Small room for a bridal room. Made me late as getting ready was impossible. Service was good. Bar prices very reasonable. Very disappointed with room due to size if I were a guest and not bride and groom it would have been fine. Drawing room is lovely but a little dangerous. Daughter fell on hearth which is to close to the chairs to walk around safely. This needs something in place or the tables making smaller, buy that would mean less money for the company! Also guests including those with physical disabilities had to sit for hours during the meal with 2 table legs between their legs which was very uncomfortable! Not sure why the seats would have been placed this way when there was a little room to shuffle the chairs. Feel the tables didn't quite fit as many people due to this factor and was very disappointed how uncomfortable guests were. Food was lovely. Due to the businesses of the place it can be quite frustrating getting around with my daughter nearly being pushed down the stairs by a rushing guest at one point so bear in mind if you would like a relaxing quiet wedding or place to stay. Cleaning and bar staff were the highlight of my stay genuine lovely people.

Got married in the cottage room yesterday. Arrived Friday. The reception staff were so welcoming. We found our room lovely and were really pleased. Had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant. Food and staff lovely. Lyn called us to make sure all was ok for our special day, making sure that we had everything we wanted and talking though plans. Our day was very special. We booked a table in the restaurant for after our wedding and again the food and staff were wonderful. Breakfast in the restaurant was also lovely. We were there for 7:30 and everything was perfect. Thank you all for making our stay wonderful and our day special.
