Amazing as usual We live in the village, but travelled from Bristol after a trip away, and thought we would wait till we got home to Stanley to have a meal. As usual it didn’t disappoint, Julie and Kenny are amazing hosts, and the food was 5 star as we have come to expect. As the saying goes “There’s no place like home” thank you both

Friendly chat with bar staff and chef. Good "specials " Spanish onion soup, pork stroganoff, chicken enchiladas. Pub grub, but of a high standard. Recommended.

Found this little pub using google reviews whilst on our holidays in the area. Really friendly staff and owners giving it a personal touch serving delicious home cooked food. Worth calling in advance to make a booking as there aren’t many tables. Accommodated our dog too ?

Very friendly staff and a good choice of food. There is a real traditional bar at the front of this hostelry and you walk straight through to what was another bar which has been converted to be more of a restaurant. It was decorated very recently and the toilets were immaculate. Not many eating places in Stanley as it is quite a small place but we were visiting the Stanley Mill and wanted lunch first. We were headed for another restaurant but apparently it had closed down after lockdown. Very happy to dine here. It was a Wed at lunch time so quite quiet but staff were very friendly. The macaroni cheese was the best ever. Very well priced.

The folks are so friendly and the food is incredible. Long way from home and fancy a home cooked meal? Homemade steak and ale pie was on the menu, and we absolutely loved it. Dessert? You could go for the sticky toffee pudding, or a flight of Scotch, or both, we did.

Well cooked and tasty food with friendly service. Nothing fancy and no windows in the dining area but we will definitely go back as we really enjoyed it and felt it was good value for money. Have already recommended it to family.
