Equis still one of the better but quite expensive fish and chip shops in Hamilton, pity the restaurant is closed ....

Popped in Equi's for Battered sausage & chips.The sausage looked anemic, the worst looking battered sausage Iv ever had/seen.Chips were nice.But the food was Horrible to look at.No colour at all.Service was fair.Price was OK.I wouldn't bother going again, too many other chippy's to try.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes

Asked for 2 chicken breast was not told it was half chickens these were disgusting thick with grease got thrown out to foxes won't be back couldn't eat chips either they were soggy and greasy as well used to be able to get a lovely chicken breast think you should I ld be able to let your customers know what they are getting will definitely not be back. Very dissatisfied

Sorry I have had nothing but the best from this shop however up until 2 weeks ago. Food is so greasey 2 weekends in a row and the presentation not good so very unlike them. Has something changed. ?

Chicken tikka pasta in spicey sauce asked chef for extra spicey and chilli chef medhi job well done better than any Indians .ant that's a Italian man cooking. Halal option brilliant

New owner ? % WOW the grub was great fantastic ? I really wasn't expecting it to be that good I'm really blown away!!! I really struggle to eat healthy halal food in Hamilton especially Italian there isn't a Italian that does halal option apart from equis the staff have good knowledge of halal diet as you should being in the food industry!! Well spoken polite nice clean crisp white uniform ? some places I have been to the staff look like they have got out same bed!!? .I asked for halal option the young gentleman at the counter went and asked the chef and the chef himself came out and said how do you like it ? I said give me something nice he started saying have the pasta with the hot sauce so I did the way he described the dish to me the passion in his face I knew it was more then a job to this man he enjoys what he does .I have had lamb shanks the best I have ever tested, pasta, pizza words don't do the food justice. You try it !! The proof is in the pudding spectacular great staff and out this world grub really. Now I have some where in Hamilton to eat healthy food bravo ? .if you have halal dietary needs don't be put of by the Caucasian staff cleanest I've seen they even said you can't have this its got wine in it best honest staff I've met so for not just a sale to them it's about the customers

Ordered chip shop take away, Ordered previously and food was superb and above other chip shops. This evening, food was bland, very heavy with grease and almost all food was left due to being unpalatable. Maybe a bad night but poor standard and won't return

Equis used to be a great affordable destination for fish, chips and ice cream in the Hamilton area. Over a period of time it has deteriorated significantly. Food is so greasy to the extent it is inedible and seems like the cheapest ingredients are used. The ice cream is manufactured differently too, full of air to sell volume rather than quality. This place used to have a great name but sad to see it the way it is now. It’s now nothing special and would definitely not rush back.
