Called in at the Fox & Hound in Denholm for the first time on our way back from Hawick todayWhat a lovely wee, welcoming pub.Spotlessly clean, lovely atmosphere, welcoming landlord, nice open fire, so cosy and comforting. We had lunch. Food was excellent and plenty of it, great prices. Its 35ml for a spirit. If you are out that way, defo well worth a visit. We will definitely be back.

Excellent Pub restaurant with adjoining cottage let for holidaymakers. Here our group had a wonderful lunch and several rounds of drinks. Owner Stuart was efficient, entertaining and made everyone feel very welcome Indeed. The pub is in the very beautiful Scottish Borders village of Denholm, which has a terrific village green. Had a wonderful time and will return.

No wonder they are going out of business. First time there today. I was hiking in the area and I stopped off to listen to a friend’s folk session. I got a Diet Coke and managed to hear only a single song. The friend brought out a few little sandwiches for the musicians because the pub was not serving food. Apparently they were “overwhelmed” because there were 15-20 people there to listen to music and enjoy the outdoor beer garden type of area. Suddenly I saw the owner of the pub and his angry wife pointing in my general direction. They angrily came up to me and started giving me grief for eating a little finger sandwich that was not sold by the pub. How was I to know this? They continued to be EXTREMELY rude to me. The friend who brought in the little sandwiches explained he had brought them in. The owner is apparently called Stuart. Well Stuart you are a disaster for your business and I am not at all surprised your business is shut freeing and still for sale after many years with no interested buyers. Your terrible attitude is unacceptable.

Fabulous pub, fabulous food, very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend a visit, and if you need somewhere to stay, they have a cottage next door.

Traditional Scottish pub overlooking the green in a beautiful village of Denholm with cosy interior and very welcoming locals. Don't believe the stories about dour, unfriendly Scots if the Denholm inhabitants are anything to go by. We were welcomed in with open arms in spite of me being obviously of the female persuasion. Zorro the spaniel was immediately made to feel at home. There is food but we haven't tried it yet.
