Staying at the hotel and figured we'd give the hotel restaurant a try, despite the poor reviews (for non food related reasons). The food and drinks were EXCELLENT. Far better than most hotel restaurants back in the US. Do not hesitate to make a reservation and enjoy. The dishes are large, well presented and tasty!Kid-friendliness: Small but well done kids menu!

We were refused service at this restaurant on a Sunday night because we were not staying at the Doubletree Hotel, despite 2 large banners on the front lawn inviting people in for breakfast, lunch or dinner. There were vacant tables at the time so we were left very confused as to the rationale of the maître’d. He also refused another gentleman service even after he said he would take his food away. If in fact, the restaurant is strictly for guests of the hotel, that should be made perfectly clear rather than advertising 3 meals on prominent banners outside.

This was an ok option for a late dinner while staying at the hotel. The prawn risotto was ok. Nice lemon flavor, but the risotto rice was a tad hard. Good amount of prawns in it though. The seasonal salad had a lot in it. The Caesar salads were ok. The side order of fries was notably good. Very crispy.

Staying at a different hilton property around thr corner from this Doubletree and since there is nowhere else to eat nearby without a car decided to give this a try given the excellent reviews we saw. First, the guy at the place said that since we weren't staying at the doubletree he couldn't seat us. The place literally had two tables seated only; everything else was empty. I told me that we were staying a different hilton property and he said that the doubletree didn't have any other properties; I explained again that it was a hilton property and he said that I was wrong, the hilton I wad staying at wasn't part of his hilton. Good grief. He finally sat us but said we couldn't with everyone else. So we were treated like diseased souls. We had nachos and pizza. Pizza wasn't too bad however the nachos were really bad. It seemed liked they were trying to punish us...they were cold...just a pile of chips, a pile of sour cream in one section, a pile of salsa in one section, and a pile of glauc in one section, with cold cheese.
We ate fish-n-chips here on our way out of Edinburgh Airport and were left extremely disappointed. There was a weird and very strong chemical taste with the fish, almost like a metallic flavor (after-taste) which was very unpleasant and made the meal almost inedible. Neither my wife nor I finished the food which was not especially cheap.

Well priced meals and good service. As it is part of the Doubletree by Hilton, it caters for breakfast, lunch and dinner for guests. Service is good but they were understaffed while we were there causing a delay in the meals being served. During Covid, this is understandable.
