We popped in for a late dinner and was very pleasantly surprised - this is not your ordinary Scottish pub. Every meal is beautifully presented, the Venison was like a painting! And it tastes even better! Cooked and seasoned to perfection! Add to that a great atmosphere and supernice, welcoming and professional personnel. This is a must visit when close to Edinburgh! Been a few times and the service is generally okay. Went for Sunday roast once and the service was really slow. From the food I have had: the beef burger is good, the pie was sort of bland and the roast is good with the exception of the roast potatoes which are terrible. They had definitely been sat around for a while just being kept warm.

This review is for the restaurant only.Absolutely amazing food!We all had the flat iron steak, it was very tasty and cooked perfectly, the best steak we've had for a long time.We chose to add some onion rings and seasonal veg and these were cooked to perfection too!Enjoyed it so much we are planning to come back again tonight.Staff very helpful and attentive.Would 100% recommend.
