My family and I have been coming here for years. It is historical and beautiful. There is always an amazing lunch and dinner menu. Plus, the best selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. My two year old loves coming here too. Brillant kids menu. Dogs are also allowed. It isn't a trip to Inveraray without coming to The George. One day, I would love to stay the night here. The rooms look absolutely gorgeous.Food & drinks: Amazing food and drink selection.

I wish I could give 10 stars for the location and the staff at this incredible family run Pub. Don't let the "Family Run" mislead you this is a serious business. We were there on a Saturday night, so much fun. Amazing live music from Mic Clark, both bars were packed but no issue getting drinks due the number and professionalism of the staff. The rooms are extremely impressive and the bathrooms amazed me - Walk in shower and Jacuzzi tub in our room. Food was Excellent as well.

Excellent meal, we had our Christmas work night here , very busy , great atmosphere, all the servers were attentive and on the ball. The food was served in good time and nothing was a problem. Good witted staff make it a fun experience. Looking forward to coming back for food again .Food was the standard we have all come to expect from the George.

Probably the best hotel in Scotland, we've stayed at the George on several occasions and it never disappoints. Busy Saturday night with live music by the B33's in the bar. The food is always good and the staff extremely hard working, special mention must go to Sean in the restaurant, the guy is brilliant, super funny and chats to everyone, makes all the guests feel welcome. If your up in the Argyle area make sure you stop here for a dram and to soak in the local hospitality ??Rooms: Each room has a different themeWalkability: Within 50mtrs walk of the town and 10 minutes of the CastleFood & drinks: Food is brilliant and uses all local providers

We were trapped in Inveraray and this was a highlight of that disaster. They reduced our room rate gave us an extraordinary room, The Library, complete with jet Bath. Breakfast was tasty and a great selection. Brilliant location next to theLoch with the sounds of bagpipes floating in from theLoch.

Fabulous atmosphere (Open log fires) and the best food. I always have to have the Haggis, Neeps and Tatties. My wife had the Steak pie, and that was really good too.

Thank you for squeezing 9 of us in on a busy Sunday afternoon. Lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere, open fires and friendly staff. Get there early as the lamb shank special had just sold out as we waited for a table, this was more than made up for with the roast rib of beef, fantastic!! The best Sunday roast I’ve had in many a year. They serve a full menu on a Sunday not just roasts. There is a nice little bar to have a drink in if you have to wait for a table. Definitely worth a look if you’re in the area

Came in here 3 nights in a row. The first night just for a drink, the 2nd and 3rd for food. Staff were always very welcoming and attentive. The food was excellent and came out promptly and the menu varied. One evening we sat in the rear ‘conservatory’ area, the other in the bar next to the log fire. All in all an excellent choice for a friendly, pleasant and relaxing dining experience.

We dined here. While the decor and ambience was absolutely beautiful and cozy, my food was absolutely atrocious. My husband had the venison burger, which was actually decent, but I ordered the steak pie . when it came out the meat was tough and extremely salty. if they had not been so busy and almost forgot to take our order altogether, I would’ve sent it back. Lord knows I wish I did because I got food poisoning after eating it. I was sick in bed the following day because of this, and it partially ruined my vacation. What a shame. Coming from a server they also need to learn how to take the orders in the order people get sat down.my husband and I were the first ones in the restaurant, and it quickly filled up after us. They started taking orders on other tables, some of them being parties of 10 when we were the first ones to come. if I hadn’t gotten up and said some thing, we would’ve been late back to our tour bus because they didn’t take the orders in the proper manner .

We try to go to the George every year for our anniversary. Honestly the food, the service, the staff are out standing. We take our dog, he is very anxious and the staff will help, no questions. Highly highly recommended.Love the George, best hotel, thank you

If you've not bought every version of a highland cow or an expensive rug and you've got some money left then definitely book a meal at The George. Feels like you've gone back to the 18th century but with some tasty 21st century food. Steak Pie came highly recommended and I wasn't disappointed.

We have been going here for lunch on and off for a few years. Nothing wrong with the quality of the food or the service but, for me, the lunch menu portions and prices are way off the mark. Appreciate cost pressures and all that but we won't be rushing back until they get back to balancing good food and good value for money ...
