A shadow of the place it was under the old management. The Tavern has started to become grotty inside, the selection of ales seems much more limited, and the staff don't seem to care too much. The outside beer garden is full of junk and debris. A perfect example on how to wreck a good business - now trading on former glories.

Wonderful place to have a great beer, eat some delicious food and share a story or two. Everyone was pleasant.

Had a great dinner the Staff is just great. Unfortunately I just caught one name, but she was so nice when we paid for our delicious fish and chips, and steak pies. Emma didn't have to be so kind to us but she just was. Our waitress with the black hair, apologies for not knowing your name was also so nice. Definitely worth seeing, best fish and chips in Inverness.

Disappointed in the food. While the taste was good, there were barely two shreds of fish in my Cullen skink. Staff did not ask how meal was, and when I worked up the courage to say, they took my payment before offering to not charge for my meal... Too late of course. Followed by some disingenuous apology. Paid a lot for our food :(

Fab food at a good price. Good selection of beers and spirits. Lots of screens for sport. Allows dogs which was nice. Small inside for eating but very nice and has lots of history.

It's a pretty pub with appalling food. Paid £17 for a steak sandwich, there were two tiny strips of overcooked steak (think fajita strip), this wasn't just mine, others ordered similar and the food was poor. The service was good however and the pub quiz was fun. Would go back for a beer, never for food.

It is a self-service place, only the food is delivered to your table.

Had an amazing time in here last Sunday. Made reservations for a big party upstairs. Had a variety of everything on the menu, including the different drinks. Everything came out in a timely manner, food was tasty and perfect, and our waitress Emma did a FANTASTIC job. Always a pleasure returning to our favorite restaurant in Inverness. Apologies on not taking photos as we they were too delicious.

A friendly bartender offered us samples of a couple of things as we couldn't decide. Settled on beer and went to sit outside. Halfway through our beers, it started to pour so we watched from our dry spots under the shelter. This is a good place to relax for a while.

This is a busy spot and luckily we had booked months ahead. We arrived in Inverness, dropped our stuff at the b&b and headed for the Castle Tavern. I enjoyed the food and ambience when I dined there several years ago and found the food and ambience were still very good.

Loved this place. Tasty food and very friendly bar tenders. I highly recommend to all!

The server moved us into the "closed" upper floor when the thunderstorm hit, which is very kind. The Cullen Skink is very good, and the Salmon Salad has a healthy amount of Salmon. I think we'll be back!

We had the best time at The Castle Tavern thanks to the team and especially Glenn who surprised us with the best table in front of the TV to watch the rugby World Cup. We were not supposed to come twice in only three days in Inverness but this place is too good (we first tried the restaurant upstairs) and too charming. It’s all that you need for an Inverness Pub experience! Thanks again for all of you guys that made our stay so special !

This place closes quite early on weekdays (10:00 pm) but we had a delicious meal here and had a few drinks. It was quite full around 6:00 PM but a spot quickly became available to sit inside. The terrace outside is also cozy. Also good service and good price.Vegetarian options: There are many vegetarian options. For a number of dishes it is possible to add meat, but it can also be omitted.
