XOKO Bakehouse and Coffee Bar
XOKO LTD, 13 Bridge St, InvernessOne of the only coffee spots open early on a Sunday so I was going to go here regardless! But it was phenomenal. I over-ordered a latte, a brioche with super soft scrambled eggs, bacon, and syrup poured over (Scottish McGriddle!??), and a coffee walnut twist for the road (which was SO GOOD after my hikes for the day). Almost went back for another coffee walnut twist. Seating is basic but pleasant and it was a busy spot

Frankie & Benny's
Inverness Retail and Business Park, Eastfield Way, Inverness2 adults and 5 kids from ages 2 to 13, couldn't fault the food choices, standard, flavours, service or atmosphere, just brilliant. From the moment we walked in we were greeted pleasantly and seated, orders placed and with one minor hiccup of the kids meals it was returned and sorted super quickly no issues at all, everything was delicious, flavoursome, fresh, nice and hot and well presented. Even with 3 kids under 5 the atmosphere was great, staff were patient and very welcoming for the family. Just lovelyDietary restrictions: Due to my allergies they had extra measures in place meaning everything i ordered was prepared separately to avoid contamination, i was given a tablet to browse my meal choicea where i could filter to my dietry requirement making menu choices super easy and i didn't have to ask a million questions, just excellent!!Kid-friendliness: All staff were super friendly and very very patient with us as we were ordering and organising for the 5kids moreso the younger 3 which were 5 and under, high chairs provided, nappy changing facilities were clean, great atmosphere for families

Number 27 Bar and Kitchen
27 Castle St, InvernessWe (6 0f us) ended up in this bar/bistro in Inverness because foolishly on a Saturday night we hadn’t booked ahead and we were lucky to get in here. So glad we did!! We had a really great evening with most delicious food, very pleasant and attentive staff and great atmosphere. Whenever I see mussels on the menu then I make a beeline for them and I can honestly say, these were the best i have ever had. Plump, tender and delicious, filling the whole shell. My wife had the steak pie which she also thought was fab. apparently, the fish and chips was equally nice. Altogether, highly recommended!

Torrish at Ness Walk
12 Ness Walk, InvernessWe had the most fantastic dinner at the Torrish when we stayed for two nights at Ness Walk. The food was beautifully presented and each mouthful was a burst of flavour. We were celebrating my husband’s Birthday and had been a little disappointed at breakfast as there was a mix up with our order which meant we were left for 50 minutes without food. When I pointed this out, they apologised and we received it within five minutes. The evening meal made up for it though with both of us commenting that it was the tastiest meal we had had for a very long time. Breakfast the next morning went without a hitch and we also had afternoon tea which was equally good, especially the pork pies (so light and flavoursome). I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion - just wished we lived closer!

Jammy Piece
91b Telford St, InvernessWe came in today 17th November 2023 on a busy lunch,we were seated straight away and given menu’s to look through. I chose a black americano coffee and my wife had a mocha both arrived quickly and were delicious I believe they are Inverness coffee company. For food I ordered the beef muirtown wrap and my wife had the soup which was leek and potato both were served quickly and piping hot perfect for a cold day. The gravy that came with the wrap was possibly the best gravy I’ve ever tasted it actually had pieces of beef in it. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The Kitchen Brasserie
15 Huntly St, InvernessExcellent, refined cooking and gorgeous river views are how I would describe this restaurant. My husband and I were seated at the third floor overlooking the river; it’s a beautiful setting and perfect for a romantic date. Service is good as well, prompt and efficient but not intrusive. We ordered the slow cooked lamb shoulder and the roasted monkfish tail for our mains and the strawberry tart for our dessert. Every dish was excellently-prepared. Special compliments to the chef for the lamb - it was so tender and succulent. Possibly the one of the best renditions of lamb we have tasted in recent times.

Three Witches
Aignish Dr, InvernessFood was tasty, really nice fish and chips but dissapointed with the mushy peas. They were nuked in the microwave and the portion was far too small, the tartare sauce again was miniscule. Definitely not enough, I would say a 50p piece was bigger. Encore
5 Young St, InvernessBest food I ever had in a while. We had all the starters. The cauliflower carrot soup was warm creamy and very very yummy on a cold wet day. We had the best bruschetta it wasn't tomatoes but juicy creamy wild mushrooms. Had the mussels too it was the largest belly in a creamy buttery sauce. But we came for the haggis. It was 3 balls fried. Awesome a little spicy but the turnip cubes fried and fried onions were just the right accompaniment but the sauce under them was luscious. My mom loves her cappuccino it was decaf and great. The water was good tasting and if you follow me you know I'm a water snob. I like the water in Scotland. Come here and enjoy a great meal. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's a small pub feel w a welcoming feel.

Glenuig, LochailortStopped in for some lunch on way to Ardnamurchan. What's lovely warm, cosy atmosphere with the most beautiful views. Actually wish we had booked a couple of nights here and explored the surrounding area.

Cheese & Tomatin
10 Stephens Brae, InvernessMaybe the best pizza I’ve ever had. Our waitress was lovely, and we didn’t wait long at all to get our food. The restaurant is very cozy and a great place to warm up from the cold. Cannot recommend enough and will be coming here again next time I’m in Inverness.

Good Craic Cafe
41 High St, InvernessLovely local cosy cafe, central to Inverness High Street. Good food & coffee selection. I had a cappuccino hence didn't rate food but what I saw going to other tables, looked freshly prepared & well presented.

Miele's Gelateria Inverness
92 Church St, InvernessGreat place with extremely delicious gelato. We both enjoy getting a few scoops and then going for a stroll. Even though it is autumn now and feels like winter we still get some at least once a week.

Kingsmills Hotel - Top Inverness Hotel with Swimming Pool
Culcabock Rd, InvernessReally lovely hotel. We stayed in a Luxury Family Room for the weekend of a family wedding and it was very spacious and had everything we needed. Breakfast was great and all the staff were so friendly and polite, including with my little girl...she had a cold while we were there and was not herself and they were so kind. My only small comment would be that the family room was above the function suite and both nights there was loud music (obviously one night was our own event so we expected it). I'm not sure if there are any family rooms which are quieter but just something to note if you are travelling with kids and not attending an event, that it could be a little noisy. Would still be happy to stay again as this was a really minor thing for us.

The Malt Room
34 Church St, InvernessThis is an exceptional venue, and we enjoyed a private whisky tasting in the upstairs lounge which blew us away. The bar downstairs has great beers and awesome drams. Their Whisky Shop opposite is also special!

Service was fantastic, I simply had a coffee but my daughter says their food is outstanding. They are also super dog friendly, so my collie got tons of attention which he loves! The decor and artwork on the walls is fab and in soothing shades of blue,,,,,I like that the cafe is a social enterprise and hosts community events,,,,a great find,,,,I highly recommend a visit...
