Absolutely our favourite place to eat on the island. We always book in advance to make sure we’ve got a table! Valerie and Rino are lovely people, always great service and good to see them. Great vegetarian options, and the food is local which is a plus. The desserts are phenomenal.

Fab homemade food - generous portions and a lovely atmosphere. Don’t forget to take your own bottle!

Sunday lunch the 26th of November and fully booked months ago. Easy to see why....Fantastic food great ambience and service. Very relaxing better than any Glasgow or London experience. Starters of local crab and stuffed mushrooms followed by the most delightful local lamb and beautifully cooked Haddock.Topped of by a lovely home made carmel and apple pie....a byo and no corkage charge . A big thankyou to bRino? In the kitchen and wonderful service from Valirie and Jessica..Alan and Christina Dunn Largs....a must visit for good food lovers.

Outstandingly good food, simple but comfortable setting, staff friendly and efficient. Good choice of food, all clearly home made, incredible portions. Best restaurant on the island by far!

Three weeks in Scotland and this was the best food while being welcomed by the owner's Valerie and Rino. Best Venison I have ever had. Also, they have an assistant that is an artist, and she displays her work in a case. Purchased Highland Cow tea towels. Pronounced if you are a local sounds like "Eland Coo". Be sure to make reservations, owners are looking to retire soon, don't miss this special treat if you are on the Island.

We have been coming to Arran for years but only heard of this place in recent years and never been able to get a table. It was well worth the wait. Nothing fancy and all in very simple settings but I can see why it’s so highly rated. Friendly fast service. Food was delicious with big fresh portions. The sticky toffee cheesecake was outstanding. The only downside was hearing that the owners are hoping to retire and sell up. Otherwise we would definitely be back. We were staying in Brodick but it was worth the 25 minute drive both ways.

Fantastic little restaurant, extensive choice of dishes, primarily using local ingredients. Friendly and efficient service from Val and the team. Restaurant is ‘Bring you own’ alcohol so makes the whole experience affordable during these recessionary times. Well worth a visit but remember to book well in advance.

Love it. Big hearty helpings of well-made local produce and the service is terrific. Always busy so booking is essential.

A lovely meal served by friendly staff. We visited as a party of 3 . I had the beef cheek . It was delicious. My wife had the lasagne which she said was delicious. The portion size was good and cost reasonable. It take your own booze with no corkage charge.

We have tried and tried to get in here but never been successful, but we booked 6 months ago and finally made it. Lovely little restaurant, think maybe 20 covers. Lovely people who own it and I think one waitress who was great. Just really good home cooked food, we all loved it, big portions, no corkage, and it was very well priced. I don’t want to say cheap but I guess it was, would have been far more elsewhere. Only tiny complaint was it was baking in the restaurant but I’m always hot ?. Loved it.

So good we visited twice in one week! Valerie and Reno are perfect hosts, the food is divine and the cost is unbelievable (in a good way) considering the exquisite fare served up; other "fine dining" establishments on the island should take note.I would have no hesitation in recommending.

A first class family run restaurant in the beautiful village of Lochranza on the Isle of Arran. Delicious food and lovely friendly family running the business. We have tried previously to book but it was full so delighted we got a booking this year. Sadly the business is up for sale or we would definitely have been booking for next years. Thanks again we had a lovely last evening to our holiday. J Dickson & family

Booked based on lots of positive reviews but didn’t find it as good. I had the lamb which had been slow cooked and (I would say) reheated, which came with peas which were almost brown, and very soft veg partly covered in some kind of white sauce. My parents found their meals a bit oily and bland. Puddings were microwaved and my bread and butter pudding was completely soft and dripping with fat as a result - none of the oven crust you’d expect. Service was friendly but overall there are better places to eat.
