Best dining experience we’ve ever had.Everything about Loch Bay, from the ambiance to the food to the service, is welcoming and well thought out. We’ve now traveled to Skye from the United States on multiple occasions and always stay in the Stein area so that we can walk to Loch Bay for an amazing meal. We hope to continue to visit for years to come.

Reservation required (few places) and payment in advance. And once again, in Scotland, we eat early. Almost impossible to arrive late, even by calling, despite the tight timing of holidays and various hazards, it's either on time or don't eat...Once this misstep has passed, the welcome is very friendly, as is the service (half-French, half-English). The dishes are good and well presented. The place is warm, no need for a suit, we had a good time there. Parking available. Finally, congratulations on the Michelin star, surely deserved (difficult to compare with such an atypical place which prevents the waiter from placing the plate in the same direction for all the guests, which does not detract from the taste of the dishes; ))

There are some moments in life where you sit there and wonder how certain things are possible. Sometimes they are wonderful and sometimes they are unfortunate. The flavors achieved in the dishes at Loch Bay are the most wonderful! Flavors that evolved and lasted, grabbing all of your attention and forcing you to live life through your senses with each bite. My wife and I couldn't talk about anything but the food with each new dish that came out. The core ingredients were familiar, but the explosion of flavors achieved with them were completely new territory for my palate. And as a Sommelier, that is super fun! Wines were fantastic as well. We just did champagne (which never fails) and a bottle, but the selection was interesting and just different enough provide the right spin without being too alienating for your average wine drinker. Bravo Chef and Staff, we cannot wait to come back!

What an evening we had there. Everything was perfect. From the locally foraged seafood to the service, the attention to details and complexity of flavor were amazing.I truly feel this is a special place, even having experienced hundreds of restaurants all over the world.

Amazing! Loved the experience and would highly recommend. The waiter was a little awkward however he was very knowledgeable. We felt like there was 1 too many courses on the set menu and we would have liked a palette cleanser throughout the courses. Overall, really fantastic meal

What a wonderful, cosy, intimate and welcoming restaurant this is. We loved the whole experience from start to finish. The welcome was warm and friendly, and the food was heavenly. It’s very small and booking ahead is essential, but if you love fish and seafood, this is a must when on Skye.

Loved our dinner here and everything about the restaurant - it's small, sited in a beautiful location and with a fantastic view, service is bang on, and, as it should be, the food is the point. They know what they're doing and we'd definitely travel back to eat here again.Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible in that it's all on one level, not a great deal of space in which to manoeuvre once inside, though I've no doubt they'd do their best to accommodate mobility needs.

Our satisfaction was met on all levels. The staff was wonderful and our Michelin star Chef truly gifted, thank you for this amazing moment in our lives. Sincerely, the Workman’s

Very unique and delicious dinner. The food was definitely innovative. Pretty to look at and yummy. The service was pleasant and the ambiance relaxed and comfortable. I am not a big seafood eater and I enjoyed the meal beginning to end.

We loved our dinner at Loch Bay. The restaurant was in a beautiful location (although what isn’t beautiful on Skye). Very intimate seating-only six tables. The service was delightful and seamless. Delicious and spectacular courses kept appearing with lovely descriptions from the wait staff. This may be a Michelin star restaurant but it felt comfortable and fun. One surprising dish after another and the presentation was beautiful. Dinner included several items caught in the bay out front that morning. Every single item served was delicious. If you enjoy seafood this restaurant is a very special treat. Thank you for a very memorable dinner.

Very average food for a Michelin star restaurant. Super cosy room with great views, but from of house team don't make you feel comfortable.

In August I had the pleasure of going back to Lochbay again for the third time and if you are a seafood lover you won't be disappointed. Lochbay is about a local as it get can. Excellent local seafood paired with lovely and experienced staff who have all worked there since the beginning. The atmosphere is very cosy as the restaurant has only 18 seats. Yes you have to book in advance. A real hidden gem in the heart of the lovely little village Stein. Would return in a heartbeat and thanks so much for that memorable experience.

Simply delicious. Only fish and shellfish. And it is prepared so deliciously that it was really worth the 41 kilometer drive one way.In fact, we booked our Airbnb for one night so we could eat here. And my advice: do it too!
