The Hungry Gull
Staffin, PortreeVery motivated employees.
Cozy atmosphere. Cool music. Simple but great menu. Fair prices.
It was just around the corner from us. If we had discovered it earlier, we would have come more often.
Unfortunately the opening times are somewhat short.
Vegetarian options: The menu has various notes, such as: Vegetarian, Plant Based, Gluten Free, etc.
Kid-friendliness: Tables are pushed together to family size.

Old School Restaurant
Dunvegan, Isle of SkyeThe premises are classically rustic. The waitstaff were awesome, so friendly and cracking jokes with us. We had the Duck confit, Beef Cheek, Langoustines, and finished it off with sticky toffee pudding. All were perfect. All were complimented with red wine and Talisker whisky. The location was a short walk from our BnB, Minnies Rooms. Our host Mayanne highly recommended it.

The Ferry Inn
Uig, Isle of SkyeWe had the pleasure of stopping by the Ferry Inn during my NC500 trip, and it was an absolute gem! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the highlight was undoubtedly Gordon, the owner. His hospitality and company made the experience even more memorable. Whether you're looking for a couple of drinks or simply some great conversation, the Ferry Inn is the place to be. A true haven after a long day on the road—highly recommend stopping by if you're passing through!

Jann's Cakes
46 Kilmuir Rd, Isle of SkyeWhat a hidden gem!
Their Belgian chocolate cake is hands-down the best I’ve ever had—rich, moist, and perfectly sweet. The lemon meringue pie is just as amazing, definitely worth coming back for. The shop is small but cozy, with lovely owners and a warm atmosphere.
A must-visit in this area! ❤️

Caora Dhubh Coffee Company
Carbost, Isle of SkyeOn a full day trip to talisker and its distillery this place was a pleasant surprise. We came for breakfast and after lunch for dessert. Bar Am Praban
Sleat,, Isleornsay, Isle of SkyeThis is a lovely, rustic hotel and restaurant right on the edge of the Isle of Skye with stunning views. The bar man was very helpful and welcoming and found us a table and served us straight away. I had the soup of the day, which was delicious but a little runny for my taste. It was a stormy day outside, so I was rather disappointed that they didn't have the open fireplace burning as I was cold and wet. The food was very nice but quite pricey. Ideal for an occasional treat but not something we could afford to do regularly.
Overall, this place is nice but I wouldn't visit again

Cafe 1925
Newton Bank, Ardvasar, Isle of SkyeThis tiny cafe has it sorted! Interesting food cooked well - I think they have a new menu as well. Great atmosphere and coffee. Yes, previous reviewers are right, you need to have a bacon and peanut butter sandwich at least once in your life, and Cafe 1925 is a good place to give it a go!
As others said prices are reasonable especially given the quality of the food.
Parking: I don’t think there is a car park, but street parking is readily available.

Dunvegan Bakery & Coffee Shop
Dunvegan, Isle of SkyeWe'd visited this bakery on our last visit to Dunvegan about 3 years ago, and it was that good that we've spoken about numerous times since. So goes without saying that we had to visit again upon our return!
If you're anywhere near the vicinity, do yourself a favour and drop in for some food! It's not just the oldest Bakery in Skye, it's the best in my opinion!

Kilmuir House
Linicro, Isle of SkyeWhat a wonderful gem on the North West Coast of Skye!Sally was very responsive with emails, helpful and kind. Her B&B is beautiful, with a cute and charming decor and attention to detail. The views over the well manicured garden to the outer hebrides were magical at sunset! The rooms are spacious, and the beds are ultra comfortable (we slept like logs). Aside from that, breakfast was delicious, immaculately presented, and had a lovely view.If you want an authentic stay in Skye, I can't recommend this place enough.

The Oyster Shed
Carbost Beag, Isle of SkyeThe place is located at the top of a hill and the parking is very small, if it is high season consider getting there on foot by parking elsewhere. You are practically inside a warehouse. The service was slow, you don't book but you have to queue and then you can take it away or you stand on the counters. Competitive prices. Fresh and good food, generous portions. Definitely an experience worth trying in these parts

Seumas' Bar
Sligachan Hotel, Sligachan, Isle of Skye? Ambience: It's a bar! The bar is very well stocked and looks very pretty. The rest of the space is clean and has art of the local mountains, a nice space to rest after a day of hiking.
? Food: We ordered the halloumi sticks, which were had a perfect thin batter, the tomato soup and the haggis fritters. Everything came out promptly and was warm. We intended it to be a snack, but the portions ended up being large enough for a small dinner!
? Vegetarian Value: There's at least one vegetarian option in each section, one sandwich, one main, and at least one appetizer.
? Price: We only had the appetizers, which I thought were fairly priced.

Taste of India, Kyleakin
Highlands and Islands, Isle of SkyeWe were hesitant to stop in here based on the reviews but BOY! did this place deliver for two hungry Americans after a long day of hiking. We happened to receive wonderful service from our waiter — he was quite helpful while we were making our selections, and then the food came out hot and quick. Super tasty… we especially enjoyed the chutneys and papadom. Should we be fortunate enough to return to the beautiful Skye, we will make it a point to come back here too.
