Spoke with Russell today. A very articulate young man with some great ideas and a passion for his job. We were there to take some photos of this very pretty distillery.Thank you

Strathisla's distinction is that it's the oldest licensed distillery in Scotland, as well as the prettiest. Not surprising for a distillery this old, it has gone through good and bad times and changed hands. The Chivas Brothers purchased the distellery in 1950, and uses the whiskey it produced prominently in its blends. Hence today, it's marketed as "the spiritual home of Chivas" rather than its old brand.Across the street in a park, there's a well with the sign stating that it as the spring head for the water used by the distillery. The distillery is indeed photogenic, and we also did a blending class there. We learned of the major flavor compounds of a whiskey and then given our free rein to blend our own personal blends, which was kind of fun.

This is the oldest continuously operating distillery in the Highlands. The distillery is conducting tours, tastings and free samplings. It is a home of the Chivas Regal. Hence, 90-95% of whiskeys are going into the blend. However, the remaining 5-10% are excellent sweet and balanced single malt whisky. The palate is sweet, fruity, heather honey flavour with some nuttiness and perfectly balanced.

a great traditional distillery with well-known prices compared to other distilleries. Here, there is no tendency to trick the customer and charge higher prices than in the supermarket. Great fun exploring and tasting 3 whiskeys for £20. I bought glasses and 2 bottles of whiskey myself. An interesting fact for me was that mixed whiskey is not so easy to make and I have a different perspective on it now.

We did the distillery tour and tasting, then we did the "blending experience"It was awesome. If you like hands on experiments, the blending experience is a MUST.We got to taste and mix and taste and mix and in the end we got our own bottle to take home.It was fun and unique and we loved it!If you like whisky and wonder what it's like to create your own, the blending experience is the thing for you!Highly recommend!

Had the opportunity to stop at the oldest working distillery in the Highlands for a couple hours between rides on The Dram Tram. Strathisla, makers of Chivas, is within walking distance of the Keith Station. Makes for a great storefront photo.Upon arrival it was obvious that their staff has no issue taking care of their guests. Without a tour or tasting appointment we were lead to their barrel-shaped bar, just beyond the welcoming desk. We were able to do a small flight and taste a couple other whiskeys all while relaxed on a squashy couch. We even tried some of the bar snacks. My only lament was that, not being much of a Whisky aficionado, I didn't really care for their Scotch. However, if you're a fan of the brand you will not regret making a stop at this distillery.

Overall a nice experience however during the tour some parts of the distillery were closed and we were not able to see them at all, which was a bit disappointing. We did enjoy our guide and the tasting at the end though. We also did the blending experience and loved the idea and result however the whole thing felt very rushed. We only had 30 minutes to taste and mix and therefore only got a basic explanation about each flavor profile and even less time to taste leaving us feeling unable to relax and enjoy the experience to the fullest.

Enjoyable tour though a bit less polished than the other distilleries. You also get to see the more traditional side to whisky making and history. Tasting is also less rushed unlike others.

We did the distillery tour, very informative and interesting, really good distillery, really took the time to help us understand the history and range of whisky, would highly recommend. Among the best.

We've visited several distilleries, this was the most interesting, informative and enjoyable so far. Our guide Briony was superb, combining information, warmth and bubbly personality to great effect. The whisky tasting end to the tour was made more meaningful by the way she conducted it. Top marks!

Visiting Strathisla Distillery was a highlight of our honeymoon! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and the distillery itself was beautiful to visit. The tour itself was very interesting and thorough, and the blending experience we completed afterwards was very fun. This is something you must do when visiting Keith!
